Kevin Durant is bombing 3's from the parking lot in this gold medal game.

USA basketball finally turned it on for the gold medal game.

USA should just have the college guys do the olympics (people who will actually play 110%). Having LeBron  etc waffling about being on the team, and some guys looking like they're giving 80% is insulting.

A lot of those guys played well into the postseason, they may not really have 110% to give, but people still want to see the best

Glad to be proven wrong. Well I wasn't really wrong - they made the adjustments. Took the dead weight out of the rotation and played 100% better defense. Kudos and congrats

A US college all-american team wouldn't get out of the group stage. It may not even get a single win

curry's game-chewed mouthpiece pops at $3200.

College all-american team would win it all (and even if they didn't, I'd prefer watching them over these guys)

that's fucking hilarious

USA lost both 1988 Olympics and than 1990 FIBA world cup before Dream Team I was formed. Level of play outside of USA improved *a bit* since then. If you think college kids would beat Serbia, France, Australia or Spain than I can congratulate you partiotism but they would have their asses handed to them.

Agreed. The US team that played in the 2015 Pan-American Games was made up of a bunch of college players and they lost to Canada (both the men and the women). At the senior level, the USA reigns supreme, but below that, there's much more parity. Honestly, even at the senior level, a lot of teams have come close to beating Team USA. They've played close games against Australia, Serbia, and France in group play as well as Spain in the semi-finals.

They miiiiight have beaten Nigeria or China. But I wouldn't have put money on it

Why, pray tell, should the U.S. send amateurs when the rest of the world sends their professionals?
For your amusement? To increase the chance of them not winning?
It is up to other countries to catch up and surpass U.S. pros playing games at 80% (your assessment).

You clearly didn't read my previous posts. Please do so. I care more about the process than the end result in this case.
