basketball is a game of stars. the team with the better players usually win. it's not like baseball or football. mike trout ain't winning anything for the foreseeable future.

Whoa, so I looked at the table that RFX posted on the projected new GSW roster to fit in KD. Well, I looked at it last night too but i was drunk so it didn't really stick then.

As it is now, that roster is a bit of a train wreck . Kerr will need to start Draymond at center, KD at the 4, and have only one quality sub (Livingston)?

A lot of spare parts shopping must be done!

dubs already signed pachulia. plus damian jones as backup. im sure dubs will find more centers. hopefully mo sticks around. i think dubs also gets to keep iggy.

probably worse in regular season, but better in playoffs

gasol to the spurs is no small move. they can be overpowering in the paint. if only Duncan could give them 10-15 quality minutes.

Nah, I remember that well but LeBron to Miami was not LeBron to the Celtics; the team that beat them in the playoffs.
Durant's move feels like "if you can't beat them, join them" while The Decision was more like "I am going to play with my superstar friends to win championships".
But you're right in both being bad for the spirit of competition.

The Durant ripple effect... Wade is in negotiations with the Cavs.

LeBron and Wade should just sign with the Knicks and let's get it on.

dude they already signed a starting center. And they keep their number one bench guy in iggy.

I do not think Gasol's signing will improve Spurs chances. He is another slow player and their main problem last season was stagnant and isoball-heavy static offence. They have to give up Diaw to accommodate Gasol and Diaw was instrumental in bringing in some crucial dynamism on his "on" days.

Pachulia is such a dirty player. Dubs coaching staff better do something to improve game ethics. Is there "fair play" concept in the NBA? For some reason I do not see it promoted.

Will Westbrook bail out now as well? There are rumors floating that his trade to Celtics is possible. I liked the following photoseries

Do you mean Zaza Pachulia? He's not gonna get it done. 20 minute backup center at best.

This is not meant to be hating - I remember the Miami Heat teams that constantly got exposed and manhandled because they lacked a force up front like, say, Andrew Bogut. Or Tristan Thompson. And they had Lebron and Bosh. But the 5 spot had such luminaries as Joel Anthony, Haslem, Eddy Curry, and Ronny Turiaf

The only guy who'll stand there and mix it up for 40 minutes is Draymond. And he doesn't stand a chance against the Spurs, Thunder, Clippers, or Cavs. Plus right now you've got a 7-man rotation and you really need to keep Steph et al fresh.

But if they can pull something out of their ass like David West to the Spurs - then life is good

Honestly, I can't help but wonder if on balance the Dubs would have been better off going hard for Al Horford and maybe an smaller upgrade at SF with a Batum. A really good big man is a beautiful thing and not being able to go big if they wanted really hurt the Warriors against the Thunder and Cavs.

That said, and as much as I loved Bogut and what he did for the team, dude was a 20 minute center at best. And that went to 5 in the playoffs. When he was even playing.

Think of it this way. They traded Durant, Zach, and the rookie for Barnes, Ezlei and Bogut. There is not a GM anywhere that does not jump at that trade.

Imo bogut was very valuable defensively, esp post defense vs teams like memphis. Also because he was gone lebron could drive all day long. Gsw would probably win if he would not go down. Like you im wondering a bit wheter gsw is better off now, this way or another i see them winning one more anyway.

That's not a trade, that's theft.

In a few days a ring chaser will emerge to fill the gap that exists in the GSW front court. The only thing that can slow that train are injuries. Or grab Hibbert satisfied.gif

Somebody like, say, David West for example?
