the weird thing for me? I used to love long assed Bill Simmons articles (especially from the ESPN Page 2 days), but now? fuck it I'll just listen passively to podcasts (while mowing the lawn) and read actual literature. I ain't got no time to be reading opinion pieces when reality in sports is so much better. Back in the day I'd read 50 articles about the NBA draft salivating possible trades, on what my celtics could do (or watch to see if Philly or Lakers could fuck up). Now I just wait till the draft is over and assess what happened in reality.

It just means you are getting older.

Same as me.

Euro 2016 is happening and I barely follow the German games. I used to watch and analyze even games like Albania against Swiss. Now I barely care about Italy against Spain. Real live is just taking up too much time.

All the more relevant now that it appears the Knicks are on Dwight Howard's short list...

rose/melo/howard could potentially make a run to the finals in the east if they stayed healthy for 1 year.

Avoided anything sports after Sunday's loss. Not even going to read the last 3 pages of this thread. Congrats to Cleveland, they played very well and were disciplined on the defensive end. LeBron was tireless on D and Kyrie hit just enough tough, tough shots on offense to get them ahead. The entire series was tied in points until that step-back 3.

Disappointed in Curry. Was he 100%? Likely not. He couldn't get separation on Kevin Love of all frickin people, and that tells me all I need to know. But the thing with Curry is that when he's limited and pressing, he makes even more mistakes, like idiotic behind the back passes. I just about threw my beer glass at the TV when that happened. He will need to learn how to impact the game and improve decision making when forcing the issue.

Barnes is garbage and so is Ezeli. Barnes' handle has not improved in 4 years and his shot completely fell off. He consistently rebounds well. D is mostly there but not always. But goodness I can't think of a wing with worse handles. He's not such a plus defender that you live with the zero offense. On offense when he's missing the 3, he does NOTHING else. No slashing, no playmaking, nothing. Shit, even Roberson commanded more attention on offense by cutting and backdooring. Pathetic.

Ezeli has improved from brick hands to stone hands. He's athletic and mobile but kept screwing up PnR defense. Unplayable this series and for most of the playoffs. Kerr messed up by keeping these 2 in the game for so long.

And with that, I still love Dubs. Bring on the haters and trolls. Laker fans troll my FB and that means we're relevant, because the Lakers have been hot garbage for a few years. Historic season with a crap asterisk and a lot of great moments. The league moves quickly and we might not make the finals for another 40 years but the last 2 have been great. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Thaddeus Young traded to Indiana for the 20th pick in the draft and a future 2nd-rounder. So the Pacers have a core of Jeff Teague, Monta Ellis, Paul George, and Thad Young now. Myles Turner is still young and can develop. That's a pretty decent squad that could make some noise in the East.

Pacers got a steal

Brooklyn on the other hand has a ton of cap space now -- enough for 2 max contracts, although no high-profile FA's are in a hurry to sign with them. The days of Billy King doing whatever the fuck he pleases are gone now. Sean Marks came over from the San Antonio front office, so he most likely knows what he's doing and won't bet the farm on dinosaurs 3 seasons past their prime. Still, though, the Nets will be bad for the foreseeable future.

I like that Pacers lineup. Bird, obviously, knows what he's doing. Thad seems a bit small at 4, but they could play good team defense and Myles Turner looks like a steal from last year's draft.

Maybe I'm confounding Turner with someone else, but doesn't he suffer from Kevin Willis arms? From what I recall, the guy was pretty rough. Seems 3 years away. Still, Young is a nice pickup and adds to a decent group. It's not going to win the east, though.

If that year was 2011, sure

if Toronto can make it to the conference finals, I don't see why that trio plus porzingis couldn't. the east is garbage.

Because you have 2 volume shooters on a team together and that won't fly. D Howard is a clown that will never win anything. If I was Porzingis, I'd be freaking out at the shit team forming around me.

So Ben Simmons already knows the Sixers are taking him? Sorry Ben, but I am now hoping you're a bust. Nothing personal , we just need true last vestiges of this fucking Process to fail miserably and be buried in the sand

Brandan Ingram to the Lakers. I hope he sucks.
