I'm semi-pulling for GSW. Still like Bron and am thankful to him for helping bring trophies to Miami, but I kind of want him to retire only as a Heat champion devil.gif

Plus I think Dan Gilbert is a shitty human being

IMO a second dubs title is better for the league.

I found that pic somewhere and really liked it myself - it's from some movie from the 1960s, I believe.

I really don't care who wins, actually, because a Warriors championship would then thoroughly blanket the Bulls accomplishment.

agreed. these two teams should be fun no matter what. i cut cable and have watched very little basketball this season (local radio mostly and the odd nationally televised game) so i'm getting pumped to watch an entire series.

the cavs are obviously the class of the east and a nice story for cleveland but i'm leaning towards GS just for the spectacle of historical achievement.

I think cavs will have to slow the game down to a grind and rebound, take as many offensive possessions and as much flow and efficiency as possible away from GS. OKC couldn't do it over 4 quarters in any of the last 3 games and I think GS is more than ready for a grind at this point. tough sledding for CLE but we'll see.

I am legit torn about this. I dislike LBJ with a passion and can't imagine the media, publicity, ball-licking that will come with him bringing a chip to "THE LAND". Then again, GSW winning would make them THE 73-9 GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS.

PS:

I did hear from "Mike & Mike" that even if Golden State were to sweep Cleveland, the 72-10 Bulls' win percentage would be a point higher. That kinda makes me happier. foo.gif

If Cleveland calls itself "THE LAND", then I'm perfectly happy with them never winning a sports championship until the sun burns out

Must be a stupid Ohio thing like "The Ohio State Correctional Facility".

THE LAND vs. THE CITY

Whoever wins, we lose.

Admittedly I moved away a long time ago, but I lived in the East Bay for 7 years and Oakland proper for two of those. I never once heard anyone refer to it as "The City".

Nobody does. San Francisco is "the city". Oakland is "the town" but I've never actually heard anybody say that either.

Edit: in case any body's curious, that "city" logo is a throwback to when the dubs were actually the San Francisco warriors, before they moved to oak and became gs... that's the gg bridge, not the bay bridge. I assume they're using it now to market the move back to sf.

To beat Golden State, you need long, athletic players who rotate well on defense. It's a sad irony that Cleveland might have a better chance to win if it had kept Andrew Wiggins rather than trading for Kevin Love. Warriors in six.

Sorry, my post was unclear, mostly because I wasn't thinking clearly. I was thinking about Oakland specifically. Brain cramp. I have heard people call San Francisco The City.
