And compare that to everyone else on the team - torched anywhere near the rim, hemorrhaging points and then going nowhere offensively either.

I'm not really an expert on this basketball stuff but it's pretty clear to me that he played so many minutes this series because they needed him to. Think the numbers will back that up.

By all statistical measures Duncan was hopeless. Watching his play in all the games confirms that. Can't believe anyone is debating this.

SA lost tonight because they couldn't hit shots. Secondarily were a number of factors, two of which was they were slow to 50/50 balls, and the coaching decision to sit Diaw was very suspect.

so you're saying san antonio lost because they couldn't score more than the other team?

interesting...

I don't understand how you can call Duncan's effort hopeless while calling for more Diaw minutes.

Again, sure, Duncan was outplayed. But not as much as the rest of the team was outplayed.

Yeah, whoever said the bench didn't come up for this series for SAS, I have to agree partially. Were the Diaw and Mills ever planning to show up??? And while Timmy hasn't been as bad as been said in this thread, he either needs to come off the bench next season or retire. Still love me some Manu personally. Don't want to overreact but they need to pursue a PG this season. Acquiring LMA and David West worked wonders for the reg season but come playoffs, not as much. Fortunately, they still have Kawhi and Pop.

Reporter asked Pop after the first quarter what his thoughts were. He replied "as soon as we substituted, it went to crap"

Congratulations OKC! What a roaring display of Basketball which probably not only won them the series but also the KD-Derby.

And they also retrospectively  won the Harden trade, after all.

Definitely not a win. They still have a hole at sg but might have found scoring on the bench in an overpaid center. Basically after everything it was Adams for Harden and maybe the cap flexibility for Kanter. Might have been able to sign Kanter even with Harden if they let go of some dead weight.

Anyways. Super excited for warriors OKC and warriors cavs and then another championship. Gonna be two fun series. Especially looking forward to the WCF

Really curious how small ball lines up against stache bros. on the offensive end obviously pnr Kanter to death but on the defensive end I think Dray can handle Kanter. Most posted up player and one of the lowest fgp against. If not they'll double team like they usually do and switch and rotate like crazy. They don't have enough shooters to punish anyways.

amazing to watch spurs disintegratein this series, but oh well it happens sometimes, I hope Duncan and Pop are back for another year

^ I always thought that they would ride off into the sunset together but when you just won 67 games, have a great duo in Kawhi and LMA, good pieces like Danny Green/Boban/etc.; I can't see Pop walking away so easily. Duncan too for that matter but I guess we will have to wait

You can shoot badly and still score more than the other team. Your cherry picked inference is poor.

For SA, Adams was the main trouble spot in this series. 11pts/12reb and shot 70%. Duncan? 6pts/3reb and shot 35%. By far the worst shooting on the team.

The rest of the team was not outplayed statistically, you only need to look at the series stats to see that.
