Maybe try rereading my post and try to draw a different conclusion other than assuming I'm hugging kobe's nuts. Maybe that Paul had an incredible game and is gaining his old form, or that LA's best defense won't contain NO when they spread the ball well and hit open shots.

But you probably won't

Agreed.

I like Chris Webber but he's not good at this.

Gasol has tank it every once in a while to show that when he has a bad game, the Lakers lose no matter what Kobe does. In Game 2, Pau will have a great game, Kobe will score 20 on 7-29 shooting, Lakers will win and Lakers fans will carry Bryant off the court.

I love how all these dudes who come out of nowhere to post.

not that i'm particularly a pacers fan but the refs fucked up that last quarter. hibbert's offensive "foul" on joakim noah and boozer leaving foster's body on the ground for a rebound. just horrible officiating.

I really hate the bad officiating all over the playoffs, it keeps deciding games and who moves on. I mean seriously, offensive foul on Hibbert and no foul called on the push in Foster? KG's trip on Douglas to free up Allen (not to mention all the other bad calls in that game). And then the horrible no call on a very obvious offensive goaltend by Perkins against Denver, that even officials and the league has admitted. This seriously cannot go on, all these happened within the last 1:30 of the game that is very close. Such a great playoff start tainted by horrible officiating.

Interesting article on Starbury:

I actually am rooting for the guy. I like crazy and his crazy is fun crazy. Dude wants to buy a 4,000 acre cotton farm and build a city for friends and family. I hope he pulls it off.

So anybody willing to lock in their picks for the finals?
I think I called Bulls-Lakers before the season started.
Might as well stick with that although I could really see OKC coming out of the West or Bos out of the East. (I know, those are really risky pics).
Heat will fail against a real team, Magic can't ride Dwight all the way, Atlanta and Philly are nice but can't beat Chi or Bos, I figure Boston v. Chi for the Eastern Conference championship. Really a toss up for me.

The rest of the west just can't hang with the Lake show and OKC. Memphis will surprise, PDX will over perform but just can't make it out the meat grinder, Dallas will surprise no one by failing to meet expectations. Den will make a fight out of it and could beat several of the other teams but will fall in the first round. NOH will loose in 6. San Antonio I really don't know what to think. My gut says they are over ratted but they have a good coach, experience, and a lot of talent. I still think they are the top of the 2nd tier behind OKC and the Lakeshow.

^HELL NO... i no fucking idea whatsover who's going to be in the finals... I can only hope and pray the C's man up and survive Miami and Chicago...

But I know what I don't want... I don't want Orlando to start to get hot and make another run like 2009... D. Howard is akin to a goalie in Hockey.. actually thats wrong... The orlando shooters are like a goalie in hockey... if they start getting hot with D. howard manning the hoop then they can ride all the way to the finals then realize that they are a subpar team and then suck again right in time for whomever the west produces to trounce them just like in 2009...

Even though I hate LA, I do want to actually see that team gel and defend with pride and make a run to the finals... it would be sad to see them lamely fade... better to go down swinging as a team against the other west superpowers.

At the moment, I still got the Lakers in the West. They lost game 1 but I won't panic unless they lose game 2 tomorrow. They lost game 1 to the Rockets 2 years ago and won in 7 games, they just have a weakness for PGs so this is somewhat expected. Overall, I still think they are the team to beat, Pau just needs to play like he is a damn center/pf.

OKC won because of a horrible no-call on the offensive goaltend, I think they can actually take OKC out and steal game 2. Mavs won because of Kidds 3-bombs, I doubt that happens again in this post-season. Memphis and Spurs match-up well surprisingly, hard to tell who would come out but in the end, I think the Spurs beats the grizzlies.

For the East, I had Boston in the beginning of the season iirc but with Perkins gone, it'll be tough for them. Boston took too much risk in hoping that Shaq and Jermaine would get healthy, JOneal played well but they are having a surprisingly hard time against the crappy Knicks. They better do much better with Billups out. I might actually pick Miami over the Bulls in this one.

Bulls are having a tough time with the Pacers, again one of those horrible officiating that could have given the Pacers the win. They'll be pumped in Indiana but w/ Collison out, the Bulls will prevail sooner. I can't really see them getting past Miami at this point, LBJ & Wade are stepping it up and this is what they are made for, this is their time. Only thing that will stop them is if Wade misses games due to a migraine but even then you just have a rehashed Cavs team with LBJ leading w/ a better back-up in Bosh. Philly did great getting to the playoffs but let's face it, they aren't ready for this, everyone along with Young and Williams need to step up from the bench big time.

Magic and Atlanta are two very inconsistent teams. The Magic lives and dies by the 3 still, I really thought they would have adjusted by now but that trade was just stupid getting more 3 point shooter. They got a better closer in Hedo but they also got a stupid contract in Arenas. With the Hawks, you don't know who will step-up in a nightly basis, some can be consistent but they always need a big game from someone to win and hype up the team. They need heart.

Cliff notes:

I pick Lakers vs Miami in the finals!
