The irony of steve using the word intellect.

Thats pretty nice they get to try and set the record at home. I don't think they can lose in front of that crowd with the record on the line.

Hmmm, I think I'll miss the game against Memphis while I'm waiting for a flight in some crappy airport. My body is ready for 73 wins.

The 'it doesn't count unless they win the trophy' trolls are already out in force on various NBA message boards. Not sure why this rubs people the wrong way, and since I'm old enough to have seen a good chunk of the 72 wins season there's no doubt the Bulls got away with a lot of shit; Jordan repeatedly palming the ball and shoving defenders is the least egregious thing that comes to mind.

Only 2 games left to put up with Kobe.

The record is definitely nice, but ultimately, the ring is going to solidify the accomplishment of this Warriors team.
If they get the new record, it'll almost feels like even 73-9 will be broken at some point, sort of like when the four-minute mile was first achieved.

Ehh, Warriors already won the title last year, so it's not like they don't already have a claim/some hold on the record books. If they hadn't won last year it would have been much more important to win this year. Now its more of a legacy/dynasty thing

I had no idea there were this many GSW fans on this board. Off the top of my head, I knew NorCal and skitlets were fans for a while. Did the rest of you hop on when they won last year?

I've got a really good seat on the Knicks bandwagon.

lol8[1].gif seems like things come and go. The last time I remember we had a sudden influx of Clippers fans

I hopped on when 73 became a real possibility earlier in the season. I really want them to get 73 and win the title to shut up all those old-timers who won't give them credit.

Only pulling for GS, because it was a Bulls record they were breaking. Wanted to stab that ingrate Luke when they were getting close to 33. Still would prefer GS winning than the Cavs.

I'm not sure why this is a hard concept to grasp, having the best record ever and not winning a championship? No real point in that, would rather have the worst record and the trophy.

I don't remember clipper fans in here. Skitlets the only gs fan I've seen, poor guy has suffered for so long I'm glad his team is finally having some success.

@foodguy is a Clips fan, no?

The season win record is an incredible accomplishment but the championship is the ultimate barometer for a teams greatness.
Different sport but no one considers the 2007 New England Patriots, that went undefeated in regular season, as the greatest team of all-time because they lost the championship game against the NY Giants.
