I missed it but does this SD contest top the Vince Carter/Steve Francis contest? The Vince Carter arm in the net is a pretty iconic dunk in the contest.

I don't think it tops it but pretty close just because ... well I dont want ot spoil it if you havent seen it but ...

they tied up in the end and had to come up with two more dunks of the top of their heads and was also fantastic, which makes it much more impressive.

3pt contest was pretty good and exciting too and the skill contest was surprisingly good with the big men with unexpected results

great night overall, if you included those tow events, I'd say it's a better saturday night than the year Carter was in the contest

I have no problems saying that tonight's dunk contest was the best ever. Just insane shit back and forth. You could argue that either could have won. Just an amazing contest all around.

I would have given them a co-champ titles, it was that good

feel like they could have gone on with one more dunk each though, both those last dunks were 50s

Damn, I almost wished I watched it then. I lost interest when they started doing all the props and the weird scoring system from a few years back.

whats good this year is that the final wasn't fan voting so the judges giving them 50s tied them up and we got extra dunks

Gordon was robbed! Lavine was forgetable (pretty much same concept dunk trying to jump from free throw line). Gordon's dunks were both creative and memorable, brought me to tears watching him pull off that crazy shit. Oh lord rematch next year please

LOL someone watched this stuff over the age of 6?

Watched it online last night, when you see the whole thing as opposed to clips of the dunks you get far more into it. I have to agree I think it was better than 2000 which was my favorite (don't think I saw nique and jordan).

I think if gordon had shuffled his dunks around he would have won. I can't believe that fool had those chicks put on all that makeup for a 30 sec intro lmao. Those other guys were garbage.

Also Zach seemed to definitely have a popularity advantage coming in but his dunks were good too, just the timing order was better. Going to have to watch it again later.

This was better. Yes, Vince resurrected the competition, but he was head and shoulders above the other guys in the contest. These guys were not only coming up with new dunks, they were doing it with amazing athleticism, and doing it on the first attempt. That's why, even though Gordon was robbed, it's hard to completely hate on Levine, since he was still doing some pretty great dunks.

LaVine had a good showing but I do agree that Gordon should have taken it. The last dunk he did with the mascot is truly unbelievable, won't be as iconic as the free throw Jordan or 'it's over' Carter ones but the degree of difficulty and the amount of hang time required is just mind-blowing.
