If he said you're a mother fucker nobody would care because we lack enough fucked mother groups to whine about their social standing. What folks should really be up in arms about is calling something the "Sleep Train Arena".

^ I had not read Rondo's comment verbatim… if that is accurate it is realllllllly bad for him.

@idfnl thanks, I think I just misinterpreted NAMOR's comment.

Well he just gave UCLA the biggest donation they've ever had from a NBA alumnus, so he's good in my book.

edit - its halftime, so of course his teammates are just gonna be walking back.

The new favorite NBA buzzword this season appears to be "heat check".

Avery Bradley did a hell of a job on Steph Curry the other night. That kid is an impressive defender.

Didn't that word become ubiquitous during basketball broadcasts in like 2012?

Maybe, but it's use has become fever pitch now. Though "Space and pace" is quickly making up ground.

Yeah, I randomly came across this story about Westbrook visiting a quadriplegic kid in a hospital who really wanted to meet him. I know hospital visits from athletes are far from rare, but it's also true that most of the time requests like this go unrequited and it doesn't sound like this was in any way done for PR or as a photo opp.

On the heat check question, I didn't think that was a new term at all. I thought it was used in NBA Jams but in any event, seems like it's been in wide use for a number of years. Maybe Marv Albert came up with it?
