NBA 2016-2017 Season Thread - Page 161

What are you babbling about? Sloan retired the night Bulls slaughtered the Jazz. Williams was traded later. Try again. And I meant that Kobe was not the best player every year for 13 years. Of course he had mvp status within that time span but for all 13? Then I'm talking to bandwagon fans that have no idea what they're talking about.

LOL this is getting more and more ridiculous. Jerry Sloan coached for 23 years and more than 2,000 games - 800+ of which were losses. if he were to quit after a very tough or frustrating loss do you think he would last that long? and from what we know of him as a player and a coach he's the last person you would think would quit after getting his butt thrashed on the court.

Thank you. If you're not a Ladies fan, you're a cockroach.

Advanced statistics bear this argument out pretty profoundly, whether you look at PER or Win-Share, or whatever else you chose. It really shouldn't even be much of an argument.

+1. And no consensual sex that lands him in court...

They went much of the year without 1 of both of their 2 best players in Noah and Boozer yet still managed this record. Thibs gets my vote for coach of the year as well.

But if you take that record out of the equation, MVP has to be Dwight Howard or LBJ. And I HATE LBJ. But it's called most valuable..look at the Cavs without LBJ..worst team in the league. Look at the Heat with LBJ..instant contenders. How can he not be the most valuable? And same with D12..he's playing with scrubs out there. He plays at a high level on both ends of the floor night in and night out, 2nd in rebounds, 2nd in blocks, 2nd in fg%, top 10 in scoring and without him the Magic is a lottery team.

Basically I think Rose is only deserving because of that record. Without it I would make the case for D12 or LBJ.

expect B team galore.

yesterday's debacle with the celtics was both hilarious and sad... even the refs are putting in B team quality work making 3 game changing bad calls against both teams.

it was the typical "make up call" refs usually do after a blatant mistake... but they ended up doing three make up calls in a row...

the best though was wafer missing a wide open dunk... only he thought it went in... and then preened and yelled bosh style into the confused baseline crowd... then ran back on "defense" while jermaine oneil was getting an offensive rebound...and then ran into oneil as he was dribbling after fighting for said offensive rebound... wafer runs into oneil awkwardly wedging he ball between them causing a double dribble.

priceless: taked from Deadspin:

why would spurs lay down for lakers?

they know that there's a possibility of okc going to 3rd so why not beat lakers' ass and bump up okc or something? plus , it will be a moral victory over last beat down. who knows, even dallas may trade places with okc, and spurs can have an easier 2nd round.

they have every advantage to look for to beat lakers today.

Spurs are still fighting for #1 overall....I wouldn't be surprised to see a full squad.

I don't think Pop thinks he's gonna face the Bulls in the playoffs. That is the only case it would matter. I bet Pop sits AT LEAST Duncan, if not all their big 3.
