For anyone that watched the lakers game, how did their new pick Russell look?

That was a good "sixth-man" story and intense post-game interview with Ricky Rubio on ESPN.

My Sixers looked terrible as usual, but as a positive I haven't seen someone on the team with as silky smooth a touch as Okafor, in well, forever.

Noel is a very good B+ player; A- if someone works some magic with him since he's still young.

Kawhi was beasting KD last night. Don't know if his defense was so good or KD was just off. he didn't get many good looks on his shots.

Yeah. I was pretty high on Russell pre-draft, but he was more or less non-existent last night. I think that in 3-5 years, he could be great, depending who the Lakers put around him.

Other thoughts on rookies:

-Towns looked solid. I was glad that they weren't forcing it to him and loved that he fought hard for rebounds/second chance points. I don't think he'll be enough of a focal point to be in the running for ROY unless he blows up, but I'm insanely happy the Wolves ended up with him.

-I really like Prozingis. I just caught bits and pieces but he played with confidence. Dude needs to bulk up a tiny bit, so he can finish stronger at the rim.

-I did not see Okafor. I've read mostly great things about his first game. A few negative comments about his turnovers. Philly fans - did the turnovers seem like first game jitters or is there anything you think he needs to work on to control them?

-Speaking of turnovers, Mudiay's 17/9/5 looks great, but 11 turnovers?! Yikes.

That's as far as I've delved into rookies so far. Anyone watch Hezonja? How'd he look?

Simmons says he's already his pick for ROY. His first NBA shot was a made 3. Then he made a 2 and another 3 and had 8 points in 2 minutes.

Good assessment. Coach Brett Brown said that Okafor was trying to be aggressive, which to rookies tends to mean going too fast, which leads to TOs. I don't think it'll be a lingering problem, as his court vision seems outstanding, and he seems very intelligent in his interviews.

Prozingis is another guy with that natural shot. Russell looked ehh.

Ended up watching the Sixers game. Okafur looked really at easy, the guy will have no trouble with the NBA. He reminds me a bit of Tim Duncan in demeanor, and his offense reminds me a bit of Andrew Bynum with more range.
