It's not that you don't like boxing... the fight was weak sauce and anyone who knows anything about boxing saw this farce coming from miles away. Now I'll have to listen to this Clippers bullshit for another week.. fuck you Ballmer.

i got dragged into watching the fight with my friend who is a total boxing nut, he hates mayweather but had a lot riding on him, and the fight went down EXACTLY like he predicted it would. he seemed pretty excited, I guess. I watched Raging Bull last night to get into the mood, think I'll just do that if anyone tries to talk me into watching boxing again. I like team sports because even if there's a couple morons on the team, there's usually someone I can single out and root for (BIG BABY!!! didn't he break his foot in game six or was I not paying attention?)

whats it like being an nba fan in LA anyways?
are there actual clippers fans other than billy crystal who have been around awhile, or is it just bandwagon fans now that the lakers are terrible? i feel like i can root for them now with no shame since they were a garbage team during the sonics kemp/payton era (and well after that)

I like LAC, but Doc rides his starters so hard (because GM Doc traded away his bench...) that it's difficult to see them going further than the Western Conference Finals if they're fortunate enough to get there in the first place. Everyone's going to be gassed and/or hobbled like in CP3's case.

There are quite a few long-term Clippers fans aside from Billy Crystal, who apparently got tired of getting second billing at Lakers games.
It was complicated, though, but the fact that a number of folks who otherwise would have enjoyed rooting were put off by the fact that Sterling is such an odious piece of shit.

I am just like your friend. I would have loved to have seen Manny win, but it just wasn't going to happen. Floyd is going to shoulder roll, defend and point box and ho hum, big deal.

Raging Bull pre-fight psyche up is awesome. That had me laughing in a good way. happy.gif

yesssssss that game 7 was freaking phenomenal. one of the best game 7s in playoffs history, probably. and def one of the best 1st round series ever.

love the fact that everyone couldn't stop talking about the game and not the boxing match at all. great for the league's popularity.

mine: gsw in 4 (just way too good)
hou in 5 (dallas has nobody to guard harden)
clippers in 7 (?????)
memphis in 7 (if healthy, would take them in 5 or 6)

atl in 4 (brk bleh)
cle in 5 (stephens will pull out a win)
chi in 5 (mil has no experience, chicago can be pretty potent)
tor in 7 (playoff wittman!)
i did pretty damn well! hit all the winners in the west, w/ 3 series lengths right on. was off on lengths in the east by a bit, and wayyyyy off on toronto-washington.

predictions time for this round!
gsw in 5 (i love memphis but i think it's closer to 4 than 6 unfortunately)
houston in 6 (depth, fatigue, paul's injury. blake has to totally dominate again for them to win)
atlanta in 6 (worse matchup for the wizards, atlanta is getting healthier)
cle in 7 (jr is out and cleveland tends to take games off, but chicago is very inconsistent and i think they'll go big too often, which isn't really an advantage)

Wizards about to beat the Hawks. WoW!
ATL came apart in the 2nd half. I think the Wizards will take this series. I kinda knew the Hawks weren't all they were hyped up to be after they dropped 2 games to Brooklyn...

2nd half was a combo of two things mainly:
coach bud did a pretty terrible job, not playing his great starters nearly enough minutes, and not fouling down 4 w/ 33 secs left.
atlanta missed a fuckton of wide open/semi-open shots. apparently they were 15/53 on uncontested shots in the game. that most likely won't happen again.

john wall is honestly amazing.

i feel like memphis has overall played almost as well as possible against golden state. they were still down 7 after 1. no way they can win w/o conley, who looks like shit w/ a swollen face and bloody eye.

I was just invited to a suite for game 7 with Memphis if it gets that far. On the one hand would be epic, on the other hand would be great if the Warriors can win in 6 or less to reduce my sports stress!
^ that's awesome, but you should sell that spot if possible. no way it gets that far.

jeff green is such trash. he's like a taller and quieter dion waiters.

Doesn't really work that way, it's a client development event. If game 7 doesn't happen we will probably get a game in the WCF which is my preference.

Very proficient game by the Warriors. Memphis looks old and tired without Conley.

EDIT: looks like Curry won the MVP. Happy for him! Well deserved.

anybody know where to find replays of the grizzlies warriors matchup?

Washington defense was outstanding. Beal injury might prove a massive problem.
