up two, with the ball and less than a minute left in game 2, blake fumbles. with the ball in the hole with 4.9 seconds left in game 5, dj brain-farts (i think he was overanxious to make up for all the missed free throws). except for those two plays, you could argue that the clips would have won the series 4-1. but as my old football coach used ti say: if ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry christmas. props to the spurs for hanging on in a tough series and especially to pop for that horrible hack-a-thon, that took the clips completely out of their offense and took the home crowd completely out of the game. and good lord, did you ever see a 17-point lead disappear more quickly? there were some bad calls down the road, but that's basketball. fact is the clips had their shots and missed them. spurs made them when they needed them. and got a little help from god.

The East is wide open with Love's injury. Why not the Wizards? Why not now?

I think Blake had a brain fart in that final play, he really should have just lobbed that to DJ, they've been doing it for years and DJ was wide open for that easy oop. But as you said, coulda, woulda, shoulda...

big question for me: if the spurs take the series, as appears fairly certain, at least this morning, can they advance past houston? i'm thinking not.successful as they've been, this feels like the last gasp of a great group. but i would be happy to be proved wrong.

I was wrong about HOU - DAL but I don't see HOU beating the Spurs. I think the Clippers are a bigger matchup problem than whatever Houston can throw at them. Leonard should be able to disrupt Harden enough to get them an advantage. If Terrence Jones has a massive career defining series, then yes, Houston has a chance.

It does indeed look like a last gasp run for SA, but I think it has to be the Warriors to unseat them, which I think they will in 6.

The game was lost well before that final play. My DVR only extended 30 mins so I couldn't watch the last few mins, but I knew SA had won the game. Pop has done a great job of going after the Clippers biggest weakness: their mental strength.

i think DJ was expecting a lob and jumped up and on the way up realized he wasn't getting it and tried to tip the ball back in

i think the spurs rockets series will be as close. i want clippers to advance tho. i think it's still possible

I'm not giving up on the Clips just yet. 2 of those 3 losses could have gone the other way had it not for a single mistake in each game.

yeah i feel like it could've easily been 4-1 either way. a few regrettable mistakes on the clips part

Not regrettable mistakes. Inevitable mistakes.

That's always the mark of a great playoff game or series (one of them, anyway) -- the teams putting up such evenly matched efforts that it seems like one or two fleeting moments could completely change the outcome.

Houston doesn't have enough fire power, and they can't play defense. Spurs handled them pretty easily during the season.

Wishful thinking, guys. Spurs handled them pretty easily during the season too. The Clippers are/were? SAS's biggest chaallenge.

Some great ball to watch in most series happening now.
