It's not like these guys are going all out. You can rest while playing defense. That's what most all stars do.

that ties into jimmy butler admitting his D has slipped:
Quote:
"I think it starts with me, to tell you the truth,'' Butler said before Wednesday's game against the Houston Rockets. "I'm supposed to be this prime-time defender and I don't think I've been holding up my end of the bargain lately. So I think whenever I start kicking it up three, four notches on defense and not worry about offense as much, I think it'll all turn around.''

"You have to pick and choose your battles and save your energy for both ends of the floor now,'' said Butler, who leads the NBA at 39.8 minutes per game. "I'm not going to lie, I thought it was going to be easier than it is. But to go on one end and produce and then go on the other end and have to stop the best player on the opposing team is not always an easy task.''

it's interesting, 3 of the players i can think of that took huge leaps in offensive load this year are conley, gasol, and butler. all their defensive games, which used to be top-notch, have slipped as result, from analysts saying so to their team and personal D stats taking hits.

i actually think klay's defense might have gotten better. his tracking stats on nba.com are better than last year. pretty impressive, although he's only playing 32 mpg

^ James Harden circa last year. Dude got so much heat for his offense/lack of D trade-off. Who didn't laugh at his Foot Locker commercial? biggrin.gif

More people that laugh at your jokes, certainly.

Butler's efficiency has suffered lately. Too many minutes. He needs less to do more.

idnfl coming in with the hot sports take.

ATTN: Butler's efficiency is down because he leads the entire league in minutes played

Thibs better watch his back

Dude goes HAM on the boards....I'm trying to think of a player he's most similar to right now. The guy keeps showing these flashes of dominance

Not Eastern European like Russia or somewhere respectable, the story is that he got waived by a team in Lebanon. Lebanon!! They have basketball there!

imagine if they had him last year in the finals. might've gone a whole lot differently

my brother brought his kid to the warriors game for his birthday and they had to leave early because his little son was scared at how loud it got in the arena... lolz... he just texted me a bunch of swears.
