A source close to the Bulls tells SheridanHoops that eating the remaining money (roughly $11 million) and years (two after this season) on Thibodeau’s contract will not be a concern to management or ownership if they decide to fire him. The feeling among some players in the locker room is that Thibodeau is simply too hardcore, too much of an oddball personality, and runs his best players into the ground both in practices and games.

So in a case like this one, if Thibodeau has lost his locker room, he should not expect a ton of support from management. People close to the organization have told me that relations between Thibodeau and the front office have improved in the two years since assistant coach Ron Adams was let go against Thibodeau’s wishes, but I have heard enough anecdotes from people close to the team to realize that Thibodeau still views Bulls management with a jaundiced eye. And some have told me that team president John Paxson remains lukewarm at best regarding Thibs.

So you can be damn sure that Thibodeau’s job will be on the line as the Bulls, losers of four of their last five, begin a brutal stretch that includes games against the Spurs, Mavericks, Warriors and Suns before the end of January. The pre-All Star break schedule concludes with a home game against the Cavaliers — but it should be noted that Chicago does not exactly enjoy a home court advantage. They are 12-10 at home and 15-6 on the road.

A coach that will give his guys fewer minutes and lots of rest days?

sure maybe he doesnt rest his players as much as some people think he should, but can you name a coach that's available and better than or at least similar to thibs?

No. I love him. He doesn't treat his guys like tired little whiny pussies. The only guys I can think of that would handle that team well is Brad Stevens or Terry Stotts. Holzinger or SVG maybe. Lionel Hollins.

By the way, next week its me and you, homes.

who the heck is holzinger?

none of those coaches you've named are available to replace thibs which is the point that is being made

also the way coaches like thibs treats his players (as in doesnt treat them like tired little whiny pussies) is the reason you will lose next week. pops treats his players like they're tired little whiny pussies and they won a championship last year. mavs have been doing the same for a long time and they won a championship too. i like how you complain when players get injured but also complain that they're tired little whiny pussies who won't play through injury

Budenholzer or something. The dude in Atlanta. Your post did indeed say available, sorry. They'd probably have to give the team to an interim assistant. My overarching thought is that Tibs is great, and he should stay on.

I know, I have come to expect Parker and Duncan to miss at least a game a week. And Kobe has become a 1 game in 3 guy. But being tired is not an injury, you're paid too much for that.

By the way, Lebron seems to have aged a few years over the off-season.

LBj is off that steroid cocktail
lebrons been pretty deadly after his return

i watched a clippers game the other day and i actually kind of agree with kunk now. i mean i still dont think its his worst season ever but he seems anemic. the whole team kinda does. the austin rivers trade tho smfh. i feel like cp3 is tired of everything like lebron was

ive already made my stance on playing through injury clear. i think its retarded and a huge money grab/ego issue
post #19799 of 27206
i dunno man, thibs is really good but maybe he's just like scott skiles on steroids. he'll improve a team a ton, but he'll bust through to elite status, his teams don't tend to have another gear in the playoffs, and he'll wear on players after awhile.

the never giving players rest thing is honestly a massive problem too. not even resting them whole games but not playing them >40 min in games that aren't close. dude noah has been constantly injured his whole freaking career and thibs is managing his minutes. there's a reason luol deng is basically shot, and the guy isn't even 30 yet! lord knows what's going to happen to gasol and rose and butler.

i think we're pretty squarely descending into the backlash portion of the curve

yeah. its true. i dont understand why thibs and brooks dont manage minutes better
