How long has it been since the Knicks have played what people consider basketball?
a while though i am not a knicks fan. i guess two years ago when they won 54 games

This is dumb cuz you both shouldn't just discount the eye test and shouldn't pay much attention to box score stats. Indesertum, kunk is saying the exact same thing simmons is saying about Paul (taking halves off, not playing hard, poor team chemistry), and that stuff does matter. Kunk, Melos non-trad stats (win shares, box +/-, real +/-, wins above replacement) are way down compared to last year, no one should care that much about counting stats outside of fantasy purposes. Fwiw, Chris Paul's advanced stats are pretty much the same as last year's.

Also I try not to watch the Knicks, but they and the lakers are on national tv all the goddamn time.

^ albeit poorly, that was the point i was trying to make. melo's advanced stats are putrid even though the glamour stats look the same.

I looked at the Suns depth chart to see who would get fewer minutes now that Wright is going to play for them, and I found the demoted guy, who is possibly the only NBA player I've never heard of: Shavlik Randolph. And this guy has been in the NBA since 2005.

He must be the most obscure presently active NBA player. Am I wrong?

I'll always remember him for his "as long as you don't bring your gayness on me" quote.

Yeah, he's more known for that than for his play on the court.

If we're talking obscure players, though, I think my favorite has to be Adonal Foyle, who retired about 5 years ago.

He's known for this...

And for making this face after that Baron Davis dunk on AK-47.

Must admit it's true. I like to watch games Thurs night and when I went to the listings and saw that it was NYK playing, I passed.

I found this well written.

The biggest WTF I've had with obscure players is Robert Covington. I bet no one here knew he existed, and he's nearly a 20/10 guy for the Sixers, coming out of nowhere. I actually thought his box scores were typos for awhile

Add Hassan Whiteside to that list. Dude is balling the past 2 weeks
post #19588 of 27239
i'd at least heard of Whiteside...he was ballin for a good stretch of his final season at Marshall

Just so sad when your own city doesn't even play your teams games especially since they've been on a tear lately.

Wed's @ATLHawks game at Boston wasn't initially scheduled to be televised in ATL. SportsSouth has now picked it up.

And the fuck is Austin Rivers gon' be able to do for the Clips? I guess anyone is better than Farmar at this point.
