NBA 2016-2017 Season Thread - Page 1305

Nice article. Shows the impact of Kerr. He looked at the Warriors and saw a team that could defend and had offensive capability and decided to focus on fundamentals in training camp so they spent a lot more time on footwork and other drills as compared to most NBA teams. You can see where it paid off in Klay's game.

My favorite was his anecdote about pivots

I always wondered why NBA players today don't just try more 'creative' style shots (some would look like old school 50s basketball) that catch defense unaware or protect the ball more. But this shot really isn't anything I could have thought of. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

i always wanted someone to volleyball bump the ball when it's <.3 secs left and the lob isnt open, this is about as good at it gets.

the best part of this play (besides the jordan shrug) is that gordon hayward bounce passed it to him on the baseline facing away from the basket! like that was the plan all along!

apparently the front office is pushing him to do it (at least i think that's what zach lowe tweeted out)

Hey, since Doc is responsible for the existence of the eyesore that is Austin Rivers' game, it's only fair that he be forced to watch it every night

No it's actually not. Do you think Carmelo was having a good season?

but ok

i'll admit i've only watched 4 or 5 clips games this year. but everything besides clips defense and uptick in griffin's mid range seemed pretty normal

so this happened today

also i feel like jr smith and love only play well when the teams the play for lose

no and it shows in his statistics and also he's clearly injured and has been out a lot of games

i dont understand this argument of "he's scoring the same, he's passing the same, he's shooting 3s the same, has the same amount of turnovers, but this is the worst season of his career"

by what? the eye test? according to you? good argument
post #19571 of 27216
yes eye test, he's taking entire halves off, not playing hard or good d much if the time.

Have to say I'm super skeptical of that haha. Doc is super tight w/ the media and you literally never hear any other gm "convinced" to acquire another player based on his underlings recommendations, so leak city.

Doesn't really matter, I just thought it was hilarious. And it probably won't make a diff in the end.

it actually doesn't show in melo's statistics, his scoring is down like less than 2 points off career averages and his rebounds and assists are at exactly career average. this thread is astonishing in how little people know about basketball outside of box scores.
In fairness how would anyone outside of die hard Knicks fans know how well melo is playing? They are an irrelevant team and haven't played a meaningful game since they started things off against CleveBron. Other than sports center (which has abandoned the Knicks) I've yet to see melo play. I'm amazed people in this thread watch as much basketball as they do.
