NBA 2016-2017 Season Thread - Page 1243

dubs looked great last night. really fun to watch. and they played pretty good defense, too. of course, the fact that they were the bumpees in last year's playoff series might have had something to do with it. clips are still having a tough time getting untracked. hesitant on offense, a bit lazy on defense ... this is kind of a make-or-break year for that lineup, either they get it together and advance, or it'll be time to start thinking of a shakeup. as far as bledsoe ... i don't think trading him was their idea. like somebody said, he wanted/deserved to get paid and there just wasn't that much available on a team with griffin, dj and paul.

Well, yes and no.
If you're talking strictly about "intent", in the general sense, than sure. It's reasonable to want your teammates to play better.
But I'm not so sure it's reasonable to then say, "I'm going to be a dick and deliberately play poorly, because they will probably teach them to play better!"
I realize you expressed doubt about whether it's an effective strategy, so I"m not trying to suggest you were endorsing it. I just think you're cutting him too much slack (assuming for the sake of discussion that's really what's going on).

Nickname for the Warriors - "Dub" as in the first syllable when saying "W".

If that pun was intended, then well played. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

(yeah, I know it's not really a pun.)

I been on it since the 90s, so dam right I am going to enjoy this ride. All are welcome aboard the bandwagon.

wait till the move the the waterfront stadium in san francisco, then it'll be bad with the bandwagoners, hopefully it'll be like MSG where its diehards + scene-sters (that stadium is still loud sold out and into it even with shitty knicks teams).

Is the arena still designed to look like a giant toilet bowl?

Pop sits Duncan, Howard has 20 at the half. Backfire much?
don't see how it's backfiring. duncan gets his rest, pop couldnt care less whether or not theyre forfeiting a road b2b.

how the fuck does a team have 6 assists in an entire game LOL. and afterwards kyrie was like "nope nope that doesn't matter."

warriors are awesome, but weirdly enough, so is houston. everyone (me included) thought they took a huge step backwards this offseason, but they've dominated (shitty) competition. dwight looks better than last year, ariza is lights out, and their D is actually good. when they play actual teams we'll see if they can keep it up, but it's hard to say they're way worse than last year.

also memphis is so under the radar because their games are awful to watch, but they're undefeated and just straight up destroying offenses. love that team.

don't see how

I guess some get to pick and choose when to be competitive. If Scott Brooks did it, I would be surprised if your response would hold water.

The hell is this commentator smoking?

"Once Felton comes back they'll get the 3 fastest guards in the league with Jameer and Ellis"?

Did all other guard in the league sprain their ankles?

haha, fastest to the post-game spread, maybe?

it is true that some get to pick and choose. pop has a huge advantage in that, cuz his team is so good otherwise and he has unlimited job security.

but i thought most people were in agreement that coaches should rest players more often during the regular season. i totally would have supported brooks doing that last year, or spo doing it w/ lebron.
