It's a pattern. Excellent at being a front runner, but completely wilt in the face of adversity. What's so shocking is that by themselves, both Wade and Lebron were pretty clutch players in their own right

Yeah, it's bizarre, especially considering that they all chose to play together, etc. I don't get it. Is it them? The other players? Spoelstra?

i really think basketball at that level has a lot to do with "chemistry" and fitting together different pieces into a whole that can work together. with wade and james ... they're both used to being the go-to-guy down the stretch. it's not as easy as saying you've now got 2 go-to-guys. somebody's gotta take the shot.

Sure, but they knew each other's games before and really wanted to play together, all 3.

And this doesn't seem about being the go-to guy to win a tight game as much as blowing 20+ point leads on a fairly regular basis. Very strange.

It also has a lot to do with defense down the stretch and what all 5 guys are doing. In the NBA for much of the game, some offensive guys can dominate but in a tight game, defensives adjust. It's a big reason James could never lead his team to big playoff wins. He is not one to involve other players. People get taken with how he takes over games and yes, he will win some games by himself but over the long hail in tough long playoff series, his teams have failed.

Look at when Miami won it, they had big guns in O'Neill and Wade. And at end of games, when defenses collapsed on Shaq, Wade would start to come alive. They also had other peices that fit well. They had guards and forwards involved in the offense that could distribute the ball to both of them.

James is way overrated as a passer (announcers get so jacked up that he occasionaly hits an open man when he is doubled) and the fact that he controls the ball so much and is the primary scorer doesn't help them down the stretch of games. Maybe if Miami gets much better down low, that will open things late for Wade and James. But if they spend all game waiting for Labron to shoot or drive - just how is Bosch or anyone else supposed to establish an inside presence? I keep thinking Miller will get healthy to spread the defense and James will start to adjust his game but that does not seem to be happening. They still have time I guess.

They played on some international teams together with a heck of a lot of other talent. Not the same as playing chamionship level NBA ball. And even in international play, James did not seem to have to control the ball as much as he does now.

True. I thought part of the point of his going to MIA was to control the ball less, not more?

Anyway, they're going to get their asses handed to them by SA; Knicks LOL!; go Lakers!

Yes Lakers!

Oh and...

"...Yo Bron, D-Wade...you guys any good at math? What's 125 minus 95? Is it a big number?"

Lakers baby Lakers

You would think the Heat would have learned to guard from beyond the arc after Magic came back just by shooting jumpers all day. This team is self destructing. Too many egos. Haaaa.

This is a particularly irritating sports cliche - "he's the first one in and last one out of the gym every day" Not only is this impossible to prove unless you used security badges at the gym, but they say the same damned cliche about everyone on the team. What, do they all come in and leave at the same time? But then wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the cliche???

I hate when people say that shit in a work/office environment.
My first thought when I hear some one described as "first one in, last one out" is "wow, that person must not have a life and is really inefficient at their job"

Damn that was close.

Good start for the Lakers.

Miami, LOL!!!

Lebrick fails again. Wade should be the one taking the last shot at this point, and no way should they have ran an iso against the Bulls.
