You mean the Carmelo that carried Dante Jones, Kevin Martin, JR Smith, Nene et al to the WCF by averaging 27ppg? Or the Carmelo that only missed the playoffs once, even though he's been on mediocre teams at best?

I was talking about the Carmelo who is a 41% career playoff shooter on over 21 shots per game and has only made it out of the first round twice. And may never do so again.

I don't think anyone wanted to mess around with MJ because you knew he would embarrass and attack you and then rub it in. I'm not sure if anyone believes LeBron would punish you the same way, if at all.

Can you imagine anyone blowing in Jordan's ear lol8[1].gif He'd have made it his life's mission to drop 50 on you for the rest of his natural life.

Anyone read the article on ESPN about the Dream Team scrimmage, Team Magic vs Team Jordan? Interesting picture of how ruthlessly competitive those guys were, even when no one was watching and the game didn't matter.

Lebron does seem very susceptible to being bullied. The most famous of which being the years-long bullying he took from Pierce and KG without visibly standing up for himself

Also, can you imagine coming back to work for a man who did what Dan Gilbert did to him? That's probably the biggest proof that the "Lebron is a bitch" meme generators need (yes, still bitter smile.gif )

so in other words, a Carmelo that has accomplished more than he who shall not be named?

I thought you Knicks fans are all about championships. Sorry "chips". You, me, Carmelo and Love all have the same number of chips. You should be happy, you have Carmelo and if you're right about Love not having what it takes, he's going to hurt Cleveland's chances and help the Knicks.

People said the same thing about Jordan, Garnett and many others until they were paired with decent talent and found playoff success. The same may even be true for Carmelo, although we will likely never know.

I am not one to believe that a player that does not win a championship should have his career diminished, as many great players have never won one. I did not really follow Garnett in minn that much, but I never heard anyone say anything similar about Jordan as he pretty much made the playoffs from day one and you want to talk about not having any talent around you, those teams were literally one man shows.

I am happy with my Knicks, its just silly how people come down on Carmelo so often, when he's accomplished more than most and has one of the most diverse offensive games in the NBA today.

Every star has his flaws magnified in this day where everyone on the Internet is a sports analyst. A lot of the criticism of Carmelo (or Lebron, or Kobe, or Wade or Howard or Harden) is true, but the older guys tend to get romanticized because there just wasn't so much chatter or analytics around them

Re: the Jordan/Lebron respect/intimidation thing.

There are probably lots of reasons for it, but one of them might be:

You should probably ask Metta instead.

Jordan didn't make it to the finals until his 7th season - I recall a lot of Lakers/Celtics fans saying he couldn't win in the playoffs and wasn't as good as Magic/Bird. Different era, same story. People rip on Lebron but he took the Cavaliers to the NBA finals when he was 22 (4th year in the league) playing with Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, Zydrunas, Eric Snow, Sasha Pavlovic and Varejao.

This is pretty good deal for the Wolves, I am not sure Bennett upside is that high and Young is a talent wasted in Philly.
