Bibby to the Heat sounds good to me. He will get burned on D unlike Chalmers, but at least you can't double the big 3 off him. Fucking Chalmers missed a breakaway layup and most of his open shots last night

How is Murphy? I haven't seen much of him but he was a desired commodity for a few days. Is he really that big of a deal?

Murphy's talent has obviously slipped which is one reason he is available. The other is big contract. He is a 6'11 guy that rebounds and has a good outside shot. Always been a bit weak defending down low but 6'11" guys that will fight down low and can strecth a D with his offense will get interest around the NBA. He rarely has been on winning teams so it will be interesting to see how he can elevate his gaem when the playoffs come around.

Your post on Murphy made me go check the wire. Reports are that he will sign with Celtics over Heat. Looks like Bibby will go to Miami. Bibby's shot will help Heat. The big differnce for them I think will be when Miller's thumb gets stronger. He is a great shot but has been off this year since he came back. I expect he will be in good shape for playoffs and he & Bibby will be a big reason the big 3 of Miami will look even better in the playoffs.

watched a bit of the cs last night. couldn't help but think about how much they missed perkins. their in-the-paint defense was weak. we'll see if they can adjust.

Honestly people shouldn't get too excited about Bibby playing on the Heat. Yes, its a step-up in the PG direction, but everyone knows what the Heat really really need is some muscle down there in the paint.

i agree. there's just not that kind of impact player available right now. Murphy was the closest thing, even though he doesnt defend (he can at least rebound and stretch the floor and foul other bigs)...which was a fantastic stroke for the Celtics because in one move they add an impact veteran for the stretch and also fuck their biggest conference rival

I would guess Murpy saw a better chance for playing time with Celtics. Krstic has a similar game to TM. And with the ONeills always hurt, TM probably liked his chances for playing time over Krstic. Also he is a shooter. With Miller and Bibby providing outside shots and the big 3, when would Murphy ever see the ball?

I know no one wants to talk @ the Spurs, but it should be interesting to see how well they play w/out Parker...

i love the spurs. i do think parker's injury is going to hurt them for a while. the key test is going to be whether the organism can adapt ... i think it probably will. that team is built for interchangeability. duncan's going to have to step up, though, and whether he can muster another big stand at his age is a question.

duncan doesn't need to step up..parker will be back for the playoffs and until then, the spurs are on cruise control.

i'm not so sure. first, even after he's back on the court, there's going to be a period of getting back into game shape and game mentality. maybe more important, the spurs are playing above their ability right now and have been all season. that's a really special thing, but it's also pretty fragile. going into cruise control at this point would wreck that dynamic. and as the lakers demonstrate on a semi-nightly basis, that group dynamic is very difficult to switch on once it's been switched off.

i agree with you for the most part, but Pop always rests his veterans down the stretch. the younger guys are going to have to contribute more if they are to maintain their stellar play, moreso than duncan.
