So assuming he gets no offers, does he go back to the Suns at his last salary or can they say, "no market for you, so here is a 4million a year contract" or what exactly?? It seems that this "we will match any offer" can be used to keep a player's value down (unless you pull a Cuban), teams figure its a waste of time and cap space (for 3 days) so no bids but what happens to Bledsoe if he gets no offers from other teams?

He can take the qualifying offer (the offer that originally made him a RFA), which I think is just a one-year deal for around $7 or $8 mil and then he becomes an unrestricted FA in 2015. Suns obviously don't want that, but it gives them time to trade him and get something in return instead of letting him walk for nothing. I have a hard time seeing it come to that, though, as Phoenix wants to lock him into a long-term deal and there has got to be some team out there willing to make an offer for him. Milwaukee was discussed as a possible suitor, but they just claimed Kendall Marshall off of waivers, so I think they're out of the running. HOUSTON, GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER IF YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR YOU.

Agreed. He's been pretty well behaved in BYN. He'd add a lot to that front court. Even in CLE he'd be useful.

Why aren't the rockets going after Bledsoe? He'd be perfect as their 1 with Beverly as a backup

lakers are trying to sock up on guards who are somewhat flawed like SF members buy used common project sneakers.

What an idiot.

Kobe says and does lots of things that can fairly be characterized as idiotic. Not sure why this one is something you'd seize on. What should he say? "Screw it, I'm giving up on this season already and am just going to coast in the hopes I can stay healthy and extend my career until we pick up a few more draft picks"?

"Screw it, I just need to average 30 ppg for another couple years to get the scoring record."

dude scoring isn't everything man.......he was a five-time mvp. Five!!!! Disclaimer: I haven't watched any Russell games, but from everything I've heard he would just dominate on defense, and initiate the offense a bunch, with his pioneering outlet passing. i think the # of "11 titles" is a bit misleading given that there were only 8 teams in the league some of the years he played, but he was still the greatest winner the league has ever seen.

major lulz, thanks for that

ps. lmao

I think the Bulls will be serious contenders this year. They added a bunch of guys who can spread the floor (Dougie McBUCKETS, Nikola Mirotic, Pau Gasol) and they kept their stingy defense intact (Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson, Joakim Noah). Thibs can mix and match to get the perfect lineup on the floor for pretty much any situation. Even if D-Rose sits out a big chunk of this season, I don't think it'll hurt them too much. Aaron Brooks is still a quick little bastard with an explosive first step.

Wish they found a way to keep DJ Augustin. But after Nate Robinson left for Denver last year, I've come to expect this sort of thing.

I'm thinking right now Thibs is the rich man's version of Mike brown, but will eventually revert into the plain old regular Mike Brown level in the next couple of years. He just doesn't have an offense and seems like too much of a hard ass to change his ways about running his main guys into the ground.

mike brown's done less with more tho

^Ain't that the damn truth. I don't think any of Mike Brown's Cleveland teams would have made the playoffs had LeBron went down with a season-ending injury like D-Rose did last year.

Also, Melo is starting a venture capital fund.
