Wait, how the fuck did the Celtics get the Cavs' first rounder for nothing? This being the Cavs, there's an 80% chance it turns out to be the #1...not to mention Thornton being a very serviceable player

Boston wouldn't have taken on Thornton's salary without the pick (he's getting $8 mil this season). If you're trying to dump salary in the hopes of signing a superstar, other teams can see your intentions clear as day and they have the leverage in trade negotiations.

Sorry, I guess I knew "how". What I really meant to say was "LOL Cleveland"

Ok, yeah, agreed lol8[1].gif

What forethought? He should've known beforehand kids would find his hidden gun stash and play with then and he shouldn't have taken medication just before he slept just in case that happened?

I agree with much of what you've been saying, but perhaps you're being egged into overstating your case here. I mean, yes, if you have a hidden gun stash that's accessible by kids, I think it's more than fair to call that a lack of forethought, judgment, or responsibility.

I think your point is pretty valid but I also feel that kids are capable of finding anything you've stashed away. I simply think that it was plausible that he was being pretty responsible but unfortunately the kids found the guns and he had to transport them. Like IMO it was a culmination of unfortunate circumstances that led to him being arrested whereas some of you think he's a shitty irresponsible drunk drug addict that led him to be arrested.

No. That's its a bad idea to ride a motorcycle with a bag of guns. Who knows what really happened in advance of that. My point was simply that he should have thought about it, assessed the risks, and used his resources at hand to avoid a public incident. Pretty obvious stuff.

Nowhere in that statement do you say delonte should've asked the team. You simply state that the team would have helped but don't state given what condition. Given the context of your denigration of delontes character I took it to mean that the team would have helped had they thought delonte was worth helping.

I've been trying to explain to you why at the time transporting the guns (to keep them away from children) was a good idea. You're either willfully ignoring that part or being obtuse.

Anyways I'm done being captain save a west. I think people don't give him enough credit but whatever

Which is why anybody with halfway normal sense doesn't "stash away" a bunch of guns in a family home, but rather locks them safely away. It's not like he couldn't afford a gun safe.
Which is not to say that that instance of poor judgment someone makes him a crazy outlier among NBA players, of course.

i actually kind of like that hayward offer. hornets need a scoring guard who can ball handle and perhaps lead the bench. hayward seems perfect. MKG can guard opposing all star guards, hayward provide back up ball handling on the other side of the court if kemba's set breakdown or provide outlet scoring, al jefferson for that rim protection and go to post up option. they also just got vonleh who will hopefully develop into a nice stretch 4 (and they also have cody zeller but so far he doesn't seem that great). hairston as a backup PG should be pretty good.

kinda liking it so far. most of their roster is very young. great outlook.

gah. can't wait for next season to start already

^I don't watch Hayward enough to disagree you with you this time, so I will pass on that one lol8[1].gif

anyway they are multiple reports supposedly from sources close to LeBron that he is Cavs and Heat are his top2 destinations
after all LeBron said “I will not rest till I bring a championship to Cleveland”. It is his hometown(or say close to it :P ) and his
legacy is already secured so he might do it, bringing 1st championship to Cavs would be something bigger than next chip for Heat.
Him going to Cavs would be interesting.

Exactly. "The team would have bent over backwards to send someone to assist". Simple statement which obviously implies "had Delonte called them". I really don't need to spell this out any further unless you thought I was suggesting the team had a crystal ball.

I'm not trashing the guy, I'm just saying he's not that smart. There are like 100 ways you can see bad judgement here. Perhaps we're not denigrating his character as much as we're concluding he's just stupid.

The hype meter on Lebron to Cleveland is now getting red. He fucked them once with the decision, now the team has been told to clear cap space by his agent.

If he doesn't go to Cleveland, he'd be fucking them a second time. I see no way he can't go to Cleveland at this point. It makes sense now that the Rockets are locking in Bosh. The guy that really gets the meat pole here is Wade... left in the cold in MIA.

bosh with howard&haren in HOU, LeBron with Irving&Love in CLE
Wade forever alone in Miami rotflmao.gif

that would be cold

nowhere in your statement does it imply "had delonte called them". i already pointed out an alternate assumption that made better sense of the context that doesn't have the team resort to using a crystal ball. seems like you just skip over whatever you don't want to read

this is just hilarious. "we're not making fun of him. he's just stupid. i'm not trashing the guy. he's just not smart and has bad judgment"

I kinda regret bringing up Delonte West now. Didn't realize SFers had strong feelings for/against the guy

i regret pretty much every argument i get into, but it turns i don't regret it so much that it prevents me from diving right back in
