That was classic, unselfish BASKETBALL that supposed "fans" call boring… not bullshit look-at-me ball. Spurs clinic up and down.

I don't think it's boring at all! It's just one of the common critiques I hear quite often that the Spurs "brand" of ball is boring. You haven't heard peeps talk about this?

The same thing has happened over the years in baseball and tennis as well. Idiots want everything to be like a Michael Bay movie.

yeah the past few years everybody called it boring but this year it i don't think i heard anybody complain of boring

Absolutely hear this. It's dumb as shit. Watching Spurs play is the opposite of boring, especially when they're buttfucking the heat.

Spurs passed the ball 380 times tonight in a slow-paced game where they only had 83 possessions. Would have led the league by 45. 4.6 passes per possession.

They are literally the only team in the league that could dream of this kind of offense.

^ they played as well as any team I've seen in a long time. The passing, situational moves on each possession, shot selection. Like I said it was a clinic and wonderful to watch.

Don't think we'll be seeing any Heat "fans" around these parts until the Melo trade is finalized

iunno i feel like a lot of teams could do it

3 shooters, a stretch 4, and a 5 with good midrange and a post game

spurs basically do the same things very well. drive and dish on repeat. PnR on one side while the other side switches (big reason why they have so many 3 point shots on the wings). always somebody in the corner (i.e. if you see somebody driving and you're a shooter you head to the perimeter). if your 5 gets fronted swing the ball and have that guy do a 1 touch pass to the 5.

i guess it does take a certain personnel tho. all your shooters have to be able to drive and dish and handle the ball decently. your two bigs have to be pretty mobile and able to close out shooters in a pinch. also all the sets require pretty high basketball iq knowing what you have to do when (help out in the paint while keeping track of your man so you can close out). also your pg needs to not only have a 3 point shot and a decent midrange he has to be able to take advantage of all the spacing

but i feel like a lot of teams qualify for this

you talking to me?

i don't think there's a single team w/ 3 backcourt players (whomever they play) that are all consistently unselfish enough to make the extra pass 90% of the time, a stretch 4 who likes to pass probably 6x as much as he likes to shoot, and similar willingness and ability to pass from their centers. not only that, but they've been in the system so long that they know exactly what to do, where to move the ball, when to cut, where to take off w/ the ball right when they catch it, etc.

i don't think there's a single other team who could put on the passing and movement display that we've seen the last 2 games, and i don't think it's particularly close. who do you think could?

edit: only one that comes to mind off the top of my head is GS, but we've seen 0 evidence of their being able to do this. but curry is a great passer, iguodala is a great passer, lee, and bogut are also very good passers. but klay thompson is a ball stopper and they didn't have much ball movement this past year, relying on post ups a ton. plus they have nowhere near the depth that SAS has, so no chance they could maintain it all game long. when jordan crawford and jermaine oneal come in..........

Only Melo? Can't they get Durant and Love and Curry so LeDooshe has enough help?
