I read a report that DWill had no idea and woke up not knowing anything was going on prior to the trade. It's weird, it seemed like they picked DWill over Jerry Sloan and then send him packing. I'm even more confused now if it was DWills fault Sloan retired and this is his punishment?

it would be funny/sad if deron really ended up liking living in Utah because of the skiing, amazing nature, and nice white mormon people and end up living in New Jersey/Newark for 2 years.

then again D-will is from texas right? Maybe he liked living in Utah.

Welcome to Newark D-Will!

Still - I hold out hope that the russian owner has a "handshake agreement" to sign him to a new CBA max extension so I can seriously look into buying a season tix package when they move to brooklyn.

here's a scary thought for boston fans, what if they offered a straight up trade for D-will for rondo? Actually for the trade to work in the trade machine it would need Rondo + daniels + J. oneal

I bet danny ainge pulls the trigger on that.

There are some truth to that but keep this in mind as well, Melo has said constantly he only wants to play in NY and that if he isn't traded he won't sign the extension and go to NY anyways. I would have risked that and if it doesn't go through, just gotten CP3 and Dwight int he next couple of years. To be honest those look like better fit than Melo anyways. Think of Dwight and Amare as the new twin towers with CP3 as the facilitator? Surround them with good to decent shooters (Gallo + 1 more shooter) that can defend well enough and you got a competitive team within a year or two.

Another trade, no as big as DWill though.

According to the Associated Press, the Kings have agreed to trade Carl Landry to the Hornets in exchange for Marcus Thornton.

boy, they're really bailing out of the West, aren't they? i'm a big carl landry fan ... that guy gets more results out of his size and athletic ability than just about anybody.

I don't think they would touch Daniels or J. O'Neal for that matter. And Rondo is pretty untouchable right now for better or worse.

both are expiring contracts though. so you'd get a comparable point guard and then almost 10M in cap relief with rondo's smaller contract and expiring contract.

Phoenix Suns have traded pg Steve Nash to the Knicks for pg Chauncey Billups and a 2nd rd pick. Edit: nevermind, this is false.

I think you misunderstand me.
You say "just gotten CP3 and D12" like it's a done deal. People everywhere keep evaluating trades based on where a superstar said they might want to play some time in the future as though that is all it takes for them to go there. There is still a cap and I would bet dollars to donuts that the owners will try to take control back from the prima dona wannabe super stars.

The Jazz just sort of did. D.Will wanted to dictate where he would go but they just said fuck you, we can and will trade you to fucking NJ, like it or not. I would bet that under the new CBA players will have a little less controll and ability to hold teams ransom.
