I don't think so. He was being rested for a game 7 if needed. He'll play, I'm sure of it. Pop will probably make him a game time call just to keep Miami guessing.

Twinned that for you.

Unrelated to idfnl's point but made me chuckle:

he will play for sure, but if he's not going to be effective than no way spurs are winning 4 games

I think Riley needs to be in the discussion too.

Haven't even read the Grantland article yet (sup Indesertum) but the headline reads "When the Thunder Became Westbrook’s Team".

It's kinda sad really if it weren't so glaringly obvious by now.

We just watched him put together one of the most incredible playoff runs you’ll ever see from a point guard. His final averages were 26.7 points, 8.1 assists, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.2 steals. He led both conference finals in points, field goals attempted, free throws made and attempted, assists, steals, and turnovers. LeBron and Durant had more field goal makes, but if we were giving out an MVP for the past five weeks, it probably goes to Russ.

You gotta admit, those are some seriously impressive numbers. But this is why facts and stats are misleading.

And:

Brooks probably won’t get fired, but beyond coaching Russ and KD, he has to get better managing the lineups. It took him nine months to start playing Westbrook and Reggie Jackson together, and after letting Perry Jones and Jeremy Lamb spend most of the regular season on the bench, it meant neither of them was really a threat in the playoffs.

I think the solution to Westbrook is for him to handle the ball less. Allow a guy to make a play for him, and by proxy Durant. Jackson has shown that aside from being one ugly bug eyed motherfucker, he can develop into an excellent PG, all the tools are there.

For me, Jackson is the key to stop this bullshit of giving the ball to WB/KD and let them make a play while 4 guys watch the ball at the 3 point line.

so it looks like Fisher is likely going to be the next Knicks HC. i think he's obviously a great teammate and peer leader, but HC right from the bench? i suppose there's some precedent in the (limited) success Jason Kidd has this year, but this is an awfully big gamble that Phil is taking with a laughingstock of a franchise that he needs to turn around really quickly.

Apparently Phil Jackson got fined 25k for saying he was considering hiring fisher for coach cuz he's still a player.
