NBA 2016-2017 Season Thread - Page 1041

From my limited time watching basketball and Adams, he just doesn't have the quick instincts that guys who've grown up playing the game seem to have. Sure he's athletic and a natural sportsman, but there's that half a second delay when he gets the ball before he decides to do what he's doing. He's good enough that he makes the right choice and then generally executes it well enough, but I very much doubt he's ever going to develop into someone with the ability to control a game.

Freaking Tongans though. They're pretty much going to take over every strength based sport once the world figures out how to catch drug cheats.

His skills are at least a little bit replicated by Redick and Collison and his weaknesses are as well, and he gets paid a decent amount. The stuff he provides is less useful in the playoffs, I think, cuz teams can zero in on him on defense and Paul's gonna be on the court more so his instant offense isn't as essential.

Every team needs scoring, especially in the playoffs, even more a guy that can make his own shot. Look at Nate Robinson in last year's playoffs, and how many times he bailed the Bulls out. And Crawford's defense isn't that bad. He averaged a steal a game in the playoffs.

I agree to an extent on the overlap issue, I would make Collison the odd man out. If anyone needs to go on that Clippers team, its Dudley and Hedo. While also Big Baby, they'd need another guy in the middle. Heh, wouldn't Adams be useful?

Crawford is overrated by the avg fan, and probably most GMs. You don't need shitty "shot creation" in the playoffs on a team w/ CP3 and Blake Griffin. I will miss his ridic jumpers but he doesn't make that team much better when everyone is healthy.

Jamal Crawford has shot <40% in the playoffs literally every year he's been in them. He's shot worse than he had in the reg season every year. The guy is 34 years old.

Crawford is universally known to be one of the worst defenders in the league.

One of the issues is his contract. I think Collison is on a minimum contract, or maybe just above minimum.

Obviously Hedo is gone, but that doesn't matter cuz he never really played. They'll prob try to move Dudley, there will probably be no takers, and they're def not getting anything great back from him. Probably worth it to keep him and see if he loses some weight and regains his PHX form.

He maintained almost all his averages in the post season with fewer minutes. Rivers wouldn't have used him if he was really as awful as you portray him to be.

We just rate the guy differently. I've always liked him and thought he deserved the 6th man award at age 34.

The one step behind thing is pretty common in rookies and even in second third years. Like Anthony Davis IMO was top 3, 4 best player this year and even though he's amazing as a sophomore he can still sometimes miss the rotations or be a step slow in helping out in the paint but then scramble to find a shooter when the pass is made

I hear that's probably one of the hardest things to adjust to in the nba coming from college. Adams even played in a different professional league so it kind of makes sense that he's having trouble.

In 3 years we'll be wondering why there was any doubt about Adams. He'll catch up.

It will be interesting to see this Dante Exum kid from Australia in the League. Perimeter guys are more exposed than guys like Adams but this kid seems pretty slick. He lit up the Spanish national team which is mostly NBA guys. I found a highlight reel...

I don't know. I think there's a good chance he'll only last a few years if he doesn't develop that offensive skill set.

Looks like the real Roy Hibbert has shown up.

Doesn't mean IND will win but it's a good sign for them.
