Like Kaman. Dude never sees any minutes but then he plays and does so well then he cools off on him and benches him again. Dude would rather use Sacre?!?!?!?!?!?!

Plus it's not just Kobe complaining about MDA, Pau has been against MDA for the longest because he doesn't him post up. Pau simply doesn't like to play his running game and MDA doesn't seem open to change or alter his plays.

he came into a situation where the personnel had been built over years to run a set offense, a mobile offense, to be sure, but a set offense, and one that was rapidly aging out. rather than adapting his style to accommodate the personnel he had, mda insisted that they adapt to his system. his system might work really well with a lineup of very athetlic young players who can get up and down the floor in a hurry and pop and drive equally well. but not with a lineup that has kobe, nash, pau, howard and mwp. squandered opportunity.

I think people thought MDA was going to work out because first he was re-uniting with Nash but Nash was never healthy enough to really be helpful. And secondly, Brown was so bad that anyone was an upgrade after him.

partly this, partly i think people (at least I) thought that mda would adapt his system to the personnel he had (and certainly nash would have been key to that). you could run a semi-break offense with that lineup, run when you get the chance, but spread the floor even in sets. but that is not the way he chose to go.

Lakers are gonna be horrible for years. When Shaq left they had a young Kobe. Things are different now. A decent draft, and top free agent will bring them back in a couple of years. Crazy to think how many championships the Spurs and Lakers won. End of an era. Trippy to be seeing those two warriors leaving soon.

Nobody with an once of basketball knowledge thought MDA would would work in LA. Check back in this thread, there was hope, sure, but pretty much all the issues that came to pass were apparent from the start, before he even coached a game.

The Laker's problem is Jimmy Buss. Bad ownership is extremely difficult to overcome. Look at the Cavs, Raiders, 'Skins,, ect for proof of that. The Clippers have done, but nobody is really how that happened and it took decades. And they still have not really transcended their owner, they just don't suck.

Buss had a chance to let good basketball people run things but stepped in. And more than jsut with the coach. Pretty sure he shitcanned his scouting department and hired his drinking buddy, which does nto bode well for the current hope that this draft will provide the answer.
