yeah but Melo would be worth more now as a trade and Melo is the type of player (can take anyone off the dribble, typically able to shoot over his man easily, slasher) that many GM's stupidly fall in love with, he looks great on paper but you'll never win with him. Stat is definitely not the player he was but he can develop a back to the basket game if he wanted (think larry johnson). While we are at it, we might as well just trade both of those guys, You only need one legitimate interior scorer, Chandler and someone else that crashes boards can get garbage points and the flow will be a lot better. Of course, D'Antoni is probably the first person that we need to ger rid of. Would love to see this team under Riley or even Van Gumby.

I'm not a Knicks fan, and don't follow them closely, so I don't where they are in terms of possibly landing Dwight Howard this summer. But Howard, Chandler and Lin would make a nice trio to build around. It's much better than Amare, Melo and Lin, which is going nowhere. And I doubt Amare will learn a postup game, since he hasn't bothered to learn how to play defense since he's been in the league. Though Amare does have an expiring contract (I believe) and that is something that might entice another team to take him. But the question is whether the Knicks are willing to blow this team up and start over? I don't think it would happen, but at the same time, the Knicks don't have enough to challenge either the Bulls or the Heat right now.

It be great but I'm not sure they could trade either of those guys that easy. At least not STAT. They could git rid of Melo for sure but after what they gave up to get him (against the advice of the coach and GM) I don't think they would be willing to take the haircut.

They should though. Dump both for what ever picks/roll players they could get and go hard for Howard. Trade STAT for Josh Smith?

please stfu about howard, he is a rich man's chandler, worst superstar of last 25 years and disappears in at least 25 games a year. They need to et rid of amare and get a reliable wing who can shoot and create at least a few times a game. melo is a lousy teammate but undeniably a great scorer.

+1. I'd rather have Ryan Anderson than Howard.

the knicks dont need anderson or howard. they need to replace melo or amare, not novak or chandler

and melo so far has not been "undeniably a great scorer"
