Rodman has checked magic, bird and even Olajuwon . Motor is nonstop and he gets under your skin. I'd challenge everyone else to make up for his lost boards, a fair trade since he's doing the heavy lifting

And during these alternating stints, who does the other guard?

I guess I disagree. First and foremost Rodman was paid to rebound. Why go away from that resource when you have one of the greatest defenders ever in Pippen sitting there that matches up very well. I can see some switches, but Rodman contesting 3 pointers? Nah.

The only reason I would put rodman on James is because he was stronger than Jordan or pippen.

Rodman is a cross-dressing, instigator of an attention whore with an IQ of about 52 and deep-seated daddy issues. but he's right that Jordan's Bulls would beat Lebron's Heat. but what team could clearly beat Jordan's Bulls anyway?

larry bird's celtics (bird actually has a better record against jordan), and bad boy pistons all toyed with prime jordan, and young pippen until those teams got old.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1988–89_Chicago_Bulls_season

http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/CHI/1988.html

both the 1987 and 1988 teams had the core of grant/jordan/pippen

jordan basically had what lebron's going through now... growing pains and the unfortunate luck of being around some other great players making their run: duncan/dirk/garnette/pierce/wade

he was then fortunate to go through another generation of players no where near his caliber (exempt for the dream who conveniently he was absent for).

the celtics/pistons basically owned the bulls until the 90's started.

that said that 97 bulls team was fucking bonkers and would steamroll any team in the universe. maybe even the dream teams.

Yeah...but who real cares about off the court in an NBA thread. It's like people who say Rodman was a cross-dresser. Who cares. One of the best pound for pound rebounders of all time.

Well he's off the court now isn't he? Which makes him nothing but a shit talker with suspect motives

Lebron also had one of the worst teams that ever disgraced the finals... And that 66 win team that got routed in the playoffs wasn't fooling anybody either- they had like 3 guys that had any business playing minutes on a playoff team.

another contender was the 2001 Iverson led 76ers... oh gawd that was a fucking awful supporting cast for a finals team.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/PHI/2001.html

and their finals starting lineup:

G) Allen Iverson
G) Aaron McKie
C) Dikembe Mutombo
F) Tyrone Hill
F) Jumaine Jones

lol8[1].gif

they did manage to steal game 1 though. iverson was awesome and put the fear of god into laker fans until games 2, 3, 4, and 5 lol8[1].gif

Ha ha, ya that was a pretty weak team. '95 Magic were also pretty shitty.

Nobody mentions the 80's showtime Lakers as a team that could beat the Bulls? They definitely could. They'd probably smoke the Heat too - I mean how many sky hooks would Kareem hit against that shit Heat backcourt?
which brings us to the weird trend of the nba: why so few teams actually have won the championship... and even fewer teams winning multiple championships in team history.

for the last 40 years its basically, lakers, celtics, bulls, 76ers, spurs... and a sprinkling of others - which is why is sad/funny that the NYC and knick fans think MSG and NYC in general is the mecca of basketball when they only really won championships in the early 70's.

oh deadspin recently put up this video:

pretty impressive but nothing too special right? only THESE FUCKING KIDS ARE PLAYING FOR A 16 AND UNDER TEAM. Jeez basketball is in good hands for the future.
No doubt these kids have some insane athletic ability. Unfortunately, I think I'm viewing a few versions of Ronnie Fields 2.0

hopefully they get well coached as they grow up. remember the "And 1" generation that resulted in the US getting owned for almost a decade?

that was the negative aspects of the jordan years and then the early 2000's. the birth of heroball.

that 2001 finals game one iverson had 48pts and the step over Lue moment. but thats about it. kobe went something like 7/21 and shaq had 44pts (holy crap think about that). its an iconic game - but ultimately just a prolonged highlight film in a series loss. But iverson was cemented as a demigod for stepping over lue and playing well for a game.

cut to Dejuan Jordan dunking over someone and "killing him" and worldstar hiphop/youtube hits but no real playoff success and two fundamentally sound teams in the finals.

the pass was so smooth and non-chalant that it wasn't probably something manu meant to do. even the announcers didn't notice it.

lol and WOW... thx for the whole play... even JVG didn't comment on it and he comments on everything!

He is still an idiot, though. He made similar comments about Larry Bird in the 80's, backed up by his idiot captain, Isiah

I would have to agree and +1 to Rodman is an idiot... but he would beast up on LBJ and I think he would just frustrate the absolute hell out of LeBron until he couldn't keep his cool. Then Rodman would probably beat the shit out of him and get ejected! lol8[1].gif
