I don't understand why the jazz took on so much garbage - even with expiring contracts- in exchange for what will probably end up being a lottery pick in next years draft. Sure they can sign and trade but what veteran wants to play in Utah?

I wouldn't say Iggy took less money. He's, what, 30 now? 4years/40m is not a bad contract for someone that will be on the decline. Gotta give props to Meyers, he's doing a hell of a job. I'm already beginning to forget the years and years of Cohan's ineptitude.

Now let's get Dwight!

He took $4 mill less over 4 years, compared to what the Sacramento Kings offered him just a couple of days ago

I was so lost on what the hell you guys were talking about, I had to look it up.

The Golden State Warriors landed free agent small forward Andre Iguodala on a four-year, $48 million deal, two people with knowledge of the agreement told USA TODAY Sports.

In order to clear the necessary cap space for the move, the Warriors agreed on a trade that will send Richard Jefferson, Andris Biedrins and Brandon Rush to the Jazz. Golden State gets guard Kevin Murphy while giving the Jazz first round picks in 2014 and 2017 as well as two second-round picks.

I misspoke, 4years/48m. I think he was making 13m on his last contract? Good pickup though, he'll be a great fit and hopefully brings his FT% back up.

The Kings pulled their offer pretty soon after offering it. My guess is since Iggy didn't accept within 5 hours, the Kings didn't want to be used as leverage and moved onto other targets.

Iguodala is an interesting pick-up for GSW. I cannot help but feel like maybe it is part of a bigger scheme.

Barnes is back, told ya'll. A bit overpaid though but whatever.

Report: Clippers, Matt Barnes agree to three years, $11-12 million

Iguodala took less than he was offered by both the Kings and the Nuggets (who also had offered 5 year deals). He would be part of the upside of signing with the Warriors, so I doubt any Howard deals would involve him. I'm certain the Lakers would prefer Barnes anyhow. I'd be perfectly happy standing pat and bringing Barnes off the bench as a 6th man. Iguodala can also take some of the ball handling load off of Curry (and make better decisions than Jack did).

Hmmm....

Report: Dwight Howard will sign with the Houston Rockets

Dwight Howard has decided

According to USA Today, Howard will sign with the Houston Rockets,

After meeting with the Warriors, Lakers, Rockets, Mavericks and Hawks, Howard retreated to Colorado on Tuesday to weigh his choices and make a decision.

Late Friday, Howard made his choice, going with the youthful Rockets where he'll join James Harden, Jeremy Lin and Chandler Parsons.

Howard, 28, spent last season with the Lakers but as an unrestricted free agent, elected not to re-sign.

Although not surprising, certainly interesting. Hopefully the dwightmare doesn't continue in Houston.

I'm okay with what we got. Dubs just need a backup center with Ezeli out and to keep Bogut fresh. Never know how those ankles are going to hold up.

I'm surprised the Lakers ended up with nothing and just letting Dwight walk.

really? I was kinda thinking that Howard would tell LA to sign and trade him to GSW for Bogut and Harrison Barnes and create the new league's most intriguing team...

I was hoping LA would sign and trade for Lee & Barnes and I would have been very happy about that.

AAAND sam amick's report was incorrect. LAL and Houston the only 2 teams still in for Dwight.

J.A. Adande @jadande
Amid reports Dwight Howard chose Rockets source says he's still deciding between HOU & LAL. Maybe DH wants to tweet but is in bad cell zone

Houston trying to move Asik to Atlanta for Josh Smith... not really sure how well that frontline will work offensively. Then again, Dwight's offense is limited to roughly 3 feet away from the hoop.
