So true. He has been amazing. He's the kind of guy every coach wants on their team.

If he or Holiday don't make it I have no faith left in the All-Star selection process.

^ good point.. Varejao is vastly under-rated because he has so many unmeasured intangibles. Energy guy, never quits on a play, good attitude and a great teammate.... always loved watching Andy when I was back in Cleveburg.....

btw.. actually met him once... nice guy! nod[1].gif

I have him on our FBB team and he's carrying me while Dwight is sucking balls.

Fuck David Stern.

And the small braying donkey he rode in on. Oh wait...

Varejao should make it...Dwight is in the West now and the usual suspects (Lopez, Hibbert) kind of blow so far. Horford might end up starting or even Bosh, but the coach should put him on the roster

Exactly. There is no category for offensive rebounds a guy almost gets, but that split second slows the transition with a tip and fight for the ball makes a big difference to a fast break.

In addition, he's getting a touch every time down the court and often acts as a point-center. His feel for an opponents shot and when to position for a board is excellent, and shit, that mid-range jumper is becoming deadly.

If you lined up a group of NBA centers with no knowledge and looked at those slumped shoulders and dumpy look, you would think he was a scrub.

I think that's part of what amazes me about him - he doesn't even look like an athlete.

Lakers imploding again.

this has got to be the ultimate statement about Dwight Howard's complete and utter lack of a spine. He let his former team drop 40 on them in the final quarter. A team, by the way, that had NO business being anywhere close to winning that game. What a fucking joke.

LOLLakers.

I'm thinking around halfway through the season you'll start hearing calls for D'Antoni's head.

Andray Blatche has quielty had two big games for Brooklyn. I doubt anyone even knows who the hell he is but he can play and can turn into a beast in the middle with the proper coaching/team.

Oh, and by the way, the KNICKS have been busy WINNING!!!! yeah, soft schedule, I know, they all count in the win column the same.

Knicks and Memphis are definitely the surprise teams of the year so far, I mean we knew Memphis was going to be a playoff team but to be winning this much was definitely unexpected. Knicks is a complete surprise, I guess JR and Melo straightening up has put the teams cancer to sleep.

Lakers are just disappointing, didn't see last nights game but they were up in the first half and looks like just got destroyed for some reason. Just terrible especially after such a huge win with Jamison and Meeks showing but they really need to be consistent. They can't just have decent to good games once every 3-5 games.

At least Clippers are back on track for the meantime so it's good to see one LA team win instead of both.

I dont think Memphis is a surprise at all. In fact, I commented last season that it wouldnt be a surprise to see them in the conf finals. With Z Randolph back, this is a formidable team.

Really, you expected them to be the #1 team in the league right now? I call BS to anyone who says that they predicted that.

Read what I wrote, I expected them to be a playoff team but to be the team with the best record at any point in the season, I never would have guessed that.

And you really predicted how good Memphis will be and that they will be in the conference finals after losing to the Clippers in the first round last year? lol8[1].gif

My words were "don't be surprised if you are looking at a conference finalist". So while they lost to LA, the general point I made was this is a damn good, underrated team. Now they have come around. Claiming a bit of vindication, thank you.

You seem a bit tense when your LOLakers flounce like they did last night. Relax. You have D Howard.

I thought last season was kind of a step back for the Grizz, but with Z-Bo at less than 100% in the playoffs it's not that surprising. They match up so well at pretty much every position (with Conley probably the most underrated of the bunch). As a Spurs fan they're probably the one team that really makes me nervous out West
