Sixers baby Sixers

Jrue Holiday with a career game. 5 double doubles so far this year. He should make the All-Star team but I know he'll get robbed.
he won't make the all star team when he can't even spell his name properly.

Maybe it's meant to be pronounced Jah-ru as in Jrue the Damaja.

we can have a whole 200-page thread about athletes who spell their names "incorrectly" lol8[1].gif

i've spent 30 minutes trying to figure out what the correct spelling of JRue would be. Still stumped. not like dwyane, which is a clear case of dyslexia.

stay stumped no more foodgai!

Jrue: My mom and my mom's sister were on a kick with J names ... my cousins names are Jessica, Jenna, Jade, Jaelyn and James. My oldest brother is Justin and my name is Jrue (my mom liked the name Dru, but wanted to figure out how to keep with the J theme). After me though, that kinda ended, because my sister is Lauren and brother is Aaron.

in 45 years of watching basketball, that was one of the ugliest games (on both sides) that i've ever seen. lakers shot 31% from the floor and 53% from teh free throw line. they played like absolute horse sh&t, and still managed to lose by only 2 after missing 20 free throws (and on a last-second layup by a guard who drove past mwp, gasol and howard).

I loooooooovvvve howard's free throw routine: brick free throw despite really good shooting form then smile about missing it even in crucial situations.

its scary to say... but maybe howard's shitty free throw shooting disease/nonchalant-ness about missing is infecting the rest of the lakers?

Crucial part is that 4 straight missed free throw. Even Jamison & Kobe were missing crucial free throws. Kobe had like 10 turnovers too, he is just handling the ball too much, it was KobeBall again last night and when no one else knew what to do, it was throw the ball to Kobe and let him chuck it up from anywhere on the court. Just terrible, not sure why D'Antoni can't draw up better plays. It's like Del Negro not calling a timeout in the Clippers game 2 nights ago. Incompetent coaches, fuck!

maybe Jim Buss will fire DiAntoni after five games... go back to phil jackson... offer phil the job... then announce that jerry sloan is the new coach without even interviewing him. lol8[1].gif

Not to mention Rob Hibbert fouling out in 17 minutes (on my fantasy team) ffffuuuu.gif

those free throws:fu:
four straight misses when you're down 1 in the last two minutes.
as for kobe, don't know if you watched the game, but that dude was sick. i'll agree that it was a throwback to kobe ball, but i don't think it was a matter of him demanding the rock as much as it was everyone else tossing it to him because they didn't know what to do with it. i would argue there were some really atrocious refereeing, both ways possibly, but as a partisan, it seemed to me to be more against the lakers. of course, with the way they were shooting free throws, i'm not sure any more attempts would have done any good. and i still can't figure out what happened on that last play. truly horrible.

Nah that is exactly what I meant, there were no plays that was drawn up well and that is why it went back to Kobe to bail everyone out on almost every possession and that is why I blame D'Antoni. I swear the Lakers were playing better with the interim coach for some reason, the set-ups and plays and rotation just seemed more simple and each individuals talent just takes over the game.

I must say the Lakers did shoot terribly, MWP and Jamison were 2 for 15 for the night. EVen Pau was 2 for 9 and Morris chucks up too much 3's and was 0 for 6 as well.
