Laker updated, they also signed Jodie Meeks and resigned Ebanks. Solves the 3-point problem by the Lakers?

Nash/Duhon/Blake
Kobe/Meeks
MWP/Jamison/EBanks
Pau/Hill
Howard

Pretty solid except the only sub for Howard is Earl Clark and some Rookie named Sacre? I guess they can reign Murphy for cheap to play a few minutes as back-up for Dwight? Centers available in the FA right now are Okur, Milicic, Andersen (birdman), Curry ( lol8[1].gif ) and Dampier. If Okur would sign on a veterans minimum that would be a great back-up although Birdmans hustle and defense will probably more appreciated.

I've always said that it was house and posey that won the chip for the celtics.

Nah, they don't really need a backup center. You can always arrange the minutes such that either Pau or Howard is on the floor to play center. Worst case you can play smallball with Hill at the 5.

They might still sign a veteran-minimum in case of injury though.

I'd still get a decent back-up that can play 5-10 minutes. Keep in mind that Howard is coming back from a back injury/surgery so he may not even be 100% to begin the season. W/o a decent back-up, Pau will have to log too much minutes.

Birdman would be perfect if he took the vet's minimum.

I thought Birdman was being investigated for underage porn?

LV Odds Posted 8/13/2012;

2013 NBA Championship Odds

LA Lakers 5-2, Miami Heat 9-4, Oklahoma City Thunder 9-2, Chicago Bulls 10-1, San Antonio Spurs 10-1, Boston Celtics 20-1, Indiana Pacers 25-1, LA Clippers 25-1, Memphis Grizzlies 30-1, Philadelphia 76ers 30-1, Dallas Mavericks 40-1, Denver Nuggets 40-1, New York Knicks 40-1, New Jersey Nets 50-1, Atlanta Hawks 100-1, Milwaukee Bucks 100-1, Utah Jazz 100-1, Portland Trail Blazers 100-1, Minnesota Timberwolves 100-1, Houston Rockets 100-1, Golden State Warriors 100-1, New Orleans Hornets 100-1, Sacramento Kings 200-1, Phoenix Suns 200-1, Cleveland Cavaliers 200-1, Detroit Pistons 200-1, Washington Wizards 200-1, Toronto Raptors 500-1, Charlotte Bobcats 1,000-1 and Orlando Magic 1,000-1.

Doesn't look like the Brooklyn Nets are given much of a chance by the LV odds makers, BTW, with them pissing away money like they have, how did they let Gerald Green walk away so easy?IMO he was a great story and was one of the NBA's best bench players the last half of the season. Plus the fans loved him!

It will be interesting to see if the chemistry works with the new additions, how the aging process slows down some of the big names, how Rose, Roy and Howard rehab, who are the young guys ready to step up? . . .

Thinking ahead for the 2012-2013 season; February 10, L.A. Lakers at Miami, December 25, Oklahoma City at Miami, November 1, New York at Brooklyn, February 14, Miami at Oklahoma City. . .

I think all this predicting LA will win shit is a bit premature I never believed in any of that bullshit like steve and his garbage spurs but I would like to see the newly assembled Lake show play.

shockingly good given how they folded after Rose got injured and Rose is injury prone and coming off a tough injury. i'd probably pick Indiana ahead of them at this point.

Vanessa Bryant...

Damn idiot. It's obvious she hasn't work a day in her life.

I get it that he wants to keep close to his kids but with her taking half his money already and beingseparated already, if I were Kobe I'd be banging a different chick every night (with their consent of course).

Wow, is that quote from Vanessa Bryant for real??? If so, what does she think life is like for the (ultra-privileged) wives of all the other NBA players?

In her defense, he is widely heralded as one of the greatest to play the game. What is the point of all this clout if he can't produce chips?
