Kobe will simply never be the greatest because Michael Jordan existed. Even fi Kobe wins more titles, 3 of those weren't exactly led by him like MJ did with the Bulls. MJ to the Bulls was pretty much LBJ to the Cavs, made them playoff contenders right away. Of course MJ wouldn't have as much rings w/o Pippen or Jackson but Kobe was Pippen in that first 3 rings.

I do think that 1 MVP could hurt him but in the bigger picture, it is still a minute detail that will be overlooked. To give him credit, Kobe was robbed of 1 MVP title that was given to Nash, it weighted in more on the number of games the Suns won instead of what Kobe accomplished. Bringing Smush and Kwame to the playoffs is an MVP-feat in itself.

Foodguy - about last nights game, I can agree that they had strong defense in the first half but the second half was just a terrible basketball game. I just didn't see it as strong defense as more like lazy and weak offense.

Why would LeBron win the MVP this year?

Chicago without Rose would be a bottom feeder; Miami without LeBron would be a low seed.

agree on all points. let's just say there will never be a player GREATER than mj. And there will never be a player GREATER than kobe. but don't forget, those kwame-smush teams also had slava medvedenko! as for the second half ... i think they'd just gotten sloppy with all of the loose calls. there were spurts, though, when they really seemed to be chasing really well.

Forget greatest ever. Kobe isn't even the best player of his generation. Tim Duncan is. The individual accolades are very close, but Duncan has a slight -- but clear -- edge due to more MVPs, more Finals MVPs, and more titles won as The Man.

Sure. I guess. They'll get out of the first round against the Hornets, but if Pau doesn't wake the fuck up soon.

I haven't seen him get owned this bad since 08 Celtics
