Interesting article...

Haha, is health insurance really that much of a nuisance to pay?

Glad to see he's being productive, though.  Back in his day, he was one of the best scorers to grace the game.  Never dunked, but had a whole arsenal of finesse moves that were awesome to watch.

Uh, yeah.

Dantley was a great player but jesus did I hate his game. Everything seemed to be in slow motion and he lived on the free throw line. He hated Isaiah Thomas so I guess he can't be too bad of a guy.

he's also interesting because he was born with one leg shorter than the other. he played with a special shoe (basically a shoe with a couple inches of lift). he was one of the first guys who really used weights for conditioning for basketball too.

The guard-forward was legendarily cheap during his long and fruitful NBA career

Would love to hear more about this. Stories about cheap people fascinate me to no end. My ex has a sister that's so cheap she waited out a parking meter. I mean ******* sat there for 12 minutes until it ticked over. I mean, who... don't give a penny to the man. In fact I should start a thread.

"Survive and Advance" - espn 30 for 30. Brilliant. That NC State team was the greatest moment in College bball ever. I remember that game against Houston, but I didn't remember the run to get there. What a truly great moment, and team. A must see. The 80's were the golden era of college ball, has not been bettered.

Wait a second, since when did we consider European players to toughen up the NBA on D and shoot less 3's?

The amount of players that put no effort into D is lame. I think Knight was more trying to break up the lob than block Jordan, and it was a good effort.

I know I think of hard D when I see Dirk, Petrovick, Nash, and Parker myself. Ed is over stating his case. His point about the fundamental is good his point about LEbron not so much, if Lebron came of age playing in that era he would have been used to the level of physicality likely. And a super fast, big, skilled 6'9 260 pd basketball player is terrifying no matter the era.

celtics always play the heat tough.
No travel call on Lebron's clear 4-step

celtics have nothing to complain about officiating wise. couple of no calls and the refs gave green a pivotal possession after he knocked it out of bounds after getting blocked with 7 secs left. can't say I don't understand the call because giving Miami the ball would have ended the game and no ref wants their call to end the game if they can help it. but celts have nothing to complain about if that call went their way.

agree - Lebron is pretty much the size and weight of Karl Malone, who's only the second leading scorer of all time and played in the Jordan/Knicks/Bad Boys era. and Malone isn't as fast or as skilled as Lebron
