Well, he's not terrible, but he's been in serious decline. He's undersized for a center, and is pretty slow and earthbound, and not especially versatile. So I think as a GM you have to think: (1) what's the opportunity cost of tying up $4M in cap room, especially since I can't dump him in a trade; and (2) isn't the production he's capable of at this point fairly easily replaced by someone who either is cheaper or younger with some potential upside?

he is an overrated jump shooter, not that good either when you look at his numbers from 15+feet. He doesnt play good 1 on 1 d, doesn't stretch the floor, limited mobility, shitty beard, and is a mediocre rebounder for his position. He should complement the rest of the team well. i wonder how much they paid for him. On the other hand he isnt worse than the shit the Kings have at PF

nobody overrates Carlos Boozer
how 10rpg/career is mediocre lol, he was always a solid rebounder, and he does stretch the floor a bit because like you said he is a jump shooter. He is not as good as he was but for 4m I'd take him, it's a small amount of money for a big.

overrated? boozer was under contract for $16+ million this year

a pf taking jump shots isnt my definition of someone stretching the court. in todays league, youve got to shoot the 3 to be considered a stretch 4. a center on the other hand that can jump shoot can be effective in spacing the floor.

Exactly. A rebounder is also a bad defender has never made sense. Perhaps he's a step slow but there is no way that CHI team lets him get Harden, he was just obviously not a great defender on a great defensive squad. He'll perform above expectations in LA, even be a fantasy pickup.

He was with Spencer Hawes for 27th in the league in rebounds/game last year.

And so what? If I was the 27th best rebounder in a 30 team league, I'd be the best defender on at least 1 team.

The Boozer neg is great for LA. They got a solid pro from Duke, and has produced throughout his career. I don't see him a lot different than Elton Brand, who nobody criticizes.

Well put me in the camp that thinks getting Boozer is a good deal for the Lakers. Not an earth shattering, but a good locker room presence, a team first guy and a banger. Sometimes those guys are worth a lot more than what the stat sheet shows.

Also put me in the camp that thinks that Cleveland will be making a big mistake trading Wiggins, Bennett plus whoever else, for Love. I don't understand this ridiculous desire that teams have for "big 3's". You can't just put a bunch of big scorers together and think you become Miami instantly.

boozer was pretty bad last year. but $4 million doesn't seem too terrible

honestly don't understand what the fuck lakers are doing. i would rent out my cap space for picks as much as possible. not sign free agents

^well wiggins hasn't played a single minute of NBA basketball yet whereas Love is a proven all star. i can see both sides of the argument, but clearly wiggins is a bigger risk than love with better potential rewards (much lower salary, good basketball potential)

It may be manufactured by someone behind the scenes but Russy is one of the few athletes that has his own unique style. Too bad it's awful.

The real problem with Boozer is that everyone hates him. He has the most annoying on court shtick in the league. Give it some time, Laker fans!

I totally agree with your Elton Brand comparison (except that Brand doesn't have Boozer's annoying barking habit, which may be worth a $5-7M differential by itself).
I see them both the same way. Is there a role for either of them on the right team? Sure. But absent a very, very specific need, I can't see getting excited about my team signing either of them.
Will he put up decent numbers for the Lakers? Probably, especially given what their other options are. And they have to go through the motions of fielding a team.

As I said, I don't think he's terrible. I just don't see him as a great steal or overlooked gem or whatever.

Same page.

He's been maligned for his contract, but for his abilities, who wouldn't want him for the right price. I wouldn't go near him for that CHI contract, but that is more a reflection on CHI than Boozer. He's been a model pro, so what he got paid... if you're stupid enough to pay him it's you're fault.

honestly tho i do not understand at all why the cavs would want to trade for love now if they can get him next year and keep all their assets. love has supposedly said he'd love to play with lebron. he's also said pretty much that if he doesn't get traded he's leaving. cavs have all the bargaining chips they just need 1 years patience.

admittedly it is a gamble as to whether their team works out, but i honestly don't see any average team with lebron not making 2nd round playoffs in the eastern conference

Lebon needs to call love and ask him to wait a year. End of discussion. Love is just a young guy that wants what he wants right now. It's not in his interests to lose Wiggins... just hold on.

The problem is MIN will trade him, but if he goes or not, he just has to say the next season he'll leave for CLE, then its over.... CLE will make the deal with MIN because all relevant options are dead. Wiggins stays.
