Fuckin lakers.

"WojYahooNBA:
A deal has been reached in principle to send Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers, an executive in the three-team talks tells Yahoo! Sports"

Think the finalized deal will be
Lakers: CP3
Houston: Pau
NO: Martin, Odom, some draft picks.

NBA Rule change:

"Rip-through" moves, where an offensive player swings the ball into a defenders outstretched arm and then attempts a shot once he has created contact, will be considered non-shooting fouls if the contact begins before the offensive player starts his shooting motion.

Also, on drives to the basket, a shooting foul will be called only if contact occurs after the offensive player has begun his shooting motion, not after he has initiated his leap toward the basket.

Then they'll probably get a scrub center if they get Howard, Mbenga wouldn't be so bad. :D

bring back Ronny Turiaf!
if these trades come through -- and from what i understand, it's still a bit of an if -- this will mark the closing of another chapter. it'll be the transition to a whole new team, just as signing magic or kobe was. really ballsy moves (if they come through).

Sounds like it'll slow the game down. More balls having to get inbounded before teams are in the penalty.

I like it....I would have preferred to get Howard first...but an all world point guard is cool, too :slayer::slayer::slayer:

Walton & Bynum for Howard. Do it Mitch!!!

yeah, right. i'll have whatever he's smokin'. i'd think at this point, y ou'd have to toss in extra players just to get someone to TAKE walton.

After the lakers amnesty Walton, they'll have a smaller payroll than last season.

Hah, that is going to be a big bet on your side since Kobe, CP3 & Dwight are arguably the 3 best in their position right now and the odds certainly isn't in my favor.

Shoulda taken it.:)

word is the Lakers are trading Bynum for Pujols.

:worship:

Sorry LakerGuys but your team just became less formidable. Bynum will be lucky to play 50 games this season and the rest of the size is gone. If, however, Bynum can be traded for Howard...Huge win

So weird to see an actual Superstar PG in a Laker uniform.
Question is, will he re-sign next year?

I didn't see you reply to that bet. I was thinking you bet $1,000 and if I lose I shave my head. :D

Are you so young you don't remember the last one? The 2nd best of all time?

Your head's probably already shaved for your ECT treatments.

Laker PG Superstar that I've seen play live and not on some NBA Classics series? Nope.
I doubt you mean Magic since he isn't a legit PG. Jerry West, yah I'm too young.

And no, my head isn't shaved. I ain't gon do you dirty like that, I really would only shave my head for ~$1,000. Well outside of Emmanuelle Chriqui, Eva Mendes, Kate Upton, Miranda Kerr or Brook Decker saying they'll let me hit that if I shave my head, then yah $1,000 will do. :D

excuse me, magic not a legit point guard? buddy, i was there and he was as legit as they come. there aren't many pgs of any height who could handle the ball as well as he could.

I don't mean skill-wise bro but he was hybrid PG, like Lebron. That is what I meant by legit PG, someone like Stockton, Nash, Kidd, Rose, Thomas, CP3, Deron Williams, etc... Magi is great, Top 10 of all time easily but I just don't see him as legit PG, he started the beginning of a hybrid player in my eye.

As much as Chris Paul might convince me to cheer for the Lakers again, what are they going to do about the frontcourt? They gotta find a way to flip Bynum for Howard. I'd much preferred Pau stayed- Bynum is as overrated as they come, not to mention he's a huge punk and oft-injured.
