Fair enough, I wouldn't be surprised if the Wiz stunk it up. And as for Hedo, it's probably the homerism in me being from sac and wanting him to succeed

As for my other predictions, i'm standing by them! also, what's going on with a sf fantasy league? How many do we need, 8?

Lol, I just now realized that this was a new thread separate from the 09-10 one

I hope we can get 10-12 fantasy teams. 8 team leagues are so stacked that it takes thefun out of finding sleepers and waiver wire gems. But I'll play regardless. Even if the Knicks get CP3 and Melo I still think they'll flame out in the playoffs. Those three plus Gallinari and some other guys would be the worst defensive team in world history. Only Paul would play D on that team and he cant get all the rebounds. And you can't run if you don't rebound

Rumors today about a 4 team trade which would send Melo to NJ and a pupu platter back to Denver.

Just read the rumors, Melo for Favors and Murphy, that practically kills what makes the NJ a possible contender with Melo. Then there is a possibility of losing Harris too? The team will be left with Melo and Lopez with Farmar.

A late, longshot entry into the Melo sweepstakes could be the Clippers, according to two people with knowledge of the situation. Besides young players, the Clippers have everything the Nuggets want: 1) cap relief (L.A. is $5 million under the cap and thus could save Denver $10 million when accounting for luxury-tax savings in a lopsided deal); 2) draft picks (L.A. has Minnesota's 2011 first-round pick, which is unprotected in 2012); and 3) the large market Anthony craves (his offseason home is in L.A., and his wife, La La Vasquez, certainly approves).

A Clippers deal could be further sweetened with center Chris Kaman, who could either be a keeper or a trade chip with a $12.7 million expiring contract next season.

It looks like his points of interest is still NJ or NY, his hometown.

Trade for Chicago doesn't seem possible, Denver wants Noah, who Chi doesn't want to trade and Denver doesn't want Deng back. You said NJ is sending a pupu platter for Melo but Favors and Murphy is far from pupu platter. Favors has a big upside and Murphy is one of those centers who is a threat behind the arc and can rebound. They do not compare to Melo but with Favors potential and what Murphy can do, that is far from a crappy trade.

I prefer setting a date and picking your team, drafting is half the fun in fantasy sports. as for the rumor for the 4 team melo trade, I thought murphy wasn't included? From what I heard it was Favors and Harris only, giving up all 3 is too much.

I wouldn't mind seeing Melo in a clippers jersey and I can see it happening. They have Aminu and Griffin with minny's 1st round (which should be top 5 next season) and there own 1st rounder? That's more than enough. Aminu, 2 1st rounders, and an expiring contract should be enough.

Man, package BDavis with that and send Lawson and Melo to the Clips. BDiddy's cool but dude just hasn't done what everyone had hoped he would do in the Clips.

Agreed, live draft is more fun. Plus no one is ever happy with a team auto drafted for them Where are the rest of you fuxx? There was certainly no lack of people playing e-GM in last season's thread...step up!

The problem with live drafts is finding a schedule which works for everyone. My guess is it will have to be early Saturday, maybe around 10 or 11 am PST? What time and day do you guys prefer?

My only concern is timing. My work sched only has me off Thurs & Fri.

I agree, if the clippers can unload bdiddy and his contract they should. But assuming the nuggets are going to "start over" and want to go young while trying to clear cap space they probably won't want davis, especially with billups still on the team.

Sunday evenings seemed to be the best time for my friends & co-workers to do our fantasy drafts, my schedule is pretty flexible though so anytime should be fine.

Current update on the Melo situation:

As part of the scenario being discussed for weeks and tabled over the weekend while Denver executives strategized privately and sought other offers, the Nets would send No. 3 pick Derrick Favors and two first-round picks to Denver for Anthony. The Bobcats would get Devin Harris from New Jersey and send Boris Diaw to Utah, which could send Andrei Kirilenko and his $17.8 million expiring contract to Denver. Quinton Ross would go from New Jersey to Utah.

Good trade for NJ if that happens w/o giving up 2 of their 3 centers/forwards. Good PG pick up for the Bobcats too with Harris. Without Diaw though they'll be stuck with Kwame, Diop, Tyrus Thomas, Najera and Dampier as their bigs. Diaw is a bit undersized playing PF but at least dude could shoot 3's.

why, exactly does Melo want to be traded anyway? this is an honest question, not a sarcastic one.

i guess it's not about winning since his top choice is a gutted Nets team that was pretty bad to begin with. it looked like he had a good situation with his team and his ownership. both sides have been nothing but complimentary to each other and a max extension is on the table.
