It's a good article, read it earlier today. It's really interesting (to me) how the attributes that made him the best at basketball are making it difficult to live a life outside basketball.

No better or worse than the stock market in my opinion.

sometimes I still think there's game fixing going on in the NBA... I put in a bet for the Suns at +9 when they played the lakers two days ago. The lakers were still only up 6 in the with something like 22 seconds and the suns didn't foul or anything.... just let the clock run out and gave up. I was naturally happy, because the Suns covered only losing by 6, but it was weird to have a team just give up in a two possession game with 22 seconds left on the clock.

Yeah, there are times when I definitely feel like the games are rigged. I dunno...

I feel you though, there are many times when I decide to just go to sleep and check it in the morning.

What site do you use, or do you deal with someone local?

I have someone local, but now I just go through sportsbook.ag now. For bigger bets (anything over $1000) I'll go with the local guy. But with sportsbook I can just do micro bets to make things more interesting (like putting down $50 on the NBA all star game) when I normally wouldn't give a shit about the outcome.

Wow, interesting opinion. Can't say I would wager $500 on a sports game no matter how wealthy I was.

I have a local guy, and an account on 5dimes.

Interesting though, why do you put the bigger bets through the local guy? Easier to get paid out? I tend to put my bigger bets through the site.

I have this old fried that is obsessed with sports betting. Actually his is brother too. Both have good jobs, he's in IT, brother is a dentist. They're always low on money if not penniless.

He had all these systems and would read sports betting experts, etc. Even took a job in Vegas so he could be close to the action. He went from the 2 sports he loves (basketball and football) to betting shit he knows nothing about like baseball and you name it. He's been living paycheck to paycheck all his life because of this.

I happen to know a lot of people that have done well in the stock market. Can't say I know anyone who has done the same thru sports betting.

It's not really socially acceptable to go around parading how you're doing well on the sportsbooks.

I mean there are extremes to every situation. I could casually put a couple of grand in stocks a year, and risk that, or play the equivalent amount of money on sports.

I knew there were always tensions between him and Krause, but why does he hate him so much? I don't know the back story there.

yup the juice is a little higher with the local guy, but I get a payout within the week.

Sportsbook.ag has a $1k limit per month and only one free payout per month. sportsbook.ag has all the fun prop bets (like the superbowl bets with coin toss and national anthem singing duration over under). Especially for individual player prop bets (things like over/under on how many rebounds is dwight howard going to get per game). My average time for withdrawal checks takes at least 3 weeks in the mail.

the organization was always slaves to the luxury tax, and krause basically thought that he was the one responsible for the championships (through good front office decision making). Its the reason they broke up the team, Krause didn't want to pay Jordan another $24million/year and pippen too (pippen was the worst off - he was getting like 4million a year even during the championship runs).

Ah, makes sense. Though with 5dimes you can get paid out immediately to your debit card, which is pretty great. I would not bother if they did the check thing. They've also got weird prop bets, including oscar predictions, lawl.

I did a prop bet for the LAL/LAC game that Kobe would go under 22 points, hit it just right with him getting 20.

Im looking at next weeks games, tempted to take Spurs vs Kings moneyline. Probably going to be outrageous, but it seems like a lock...

Really? Scottie got fucked. I guess Krause believed Jordan could win with anyone. To make a comment like that during his hall of fame induction would indicate to me its worse thank contract stuff. Maybe its just Jordan.

Krause also had the biggest man crush on Kukoc, and moved heaven and earth to get him on the Bulls...so much that Mike and Scottie felt Krause wanted him over them.

Watch how they blitzed Kukoc when they faced Croatia in the Olympics - they were making a point. Poor Toni had no idea what hit him lol8[1].gif

John Salley said Kukoc had the biggest hog he's ever seen. Maybe Krause knew....

^i knew we could depend on you to turn any discussion into one about cock lol8[1].gif

I came home drunk last night and decided to watch the slam dunk contest. Didn't know it was possible but the first two rounds set a new low for shittiness. There were some nice ones in the final but overall it was still shitty. I'd like them to just euthanize the dam thing but it still seems pretty popular with the unwashed...
