NBA 2013-2014 Season Thread - Page 716

This seems like it could work out:

Sources tell ESPN's Chris Broussard that the Nets and Bobcats are discussing a trade centered around Kris Humphries and Ben Gordon.

Humphries has found himself buried on the depth chart, playing behind both Reggie Evans and Andray Blatche. But in Charlotte, he'd immediately step in as the team's best interior player. Remember that last year, Humphries posted 13.8 points and 11.0 rebounds a night while playing 34.9 minutes. Meanwhile, a 29-year-old Gordon clearly isn't in the Bobcats' rebuilding plans. He's getting just 20.7 minutes a night over the last 10 games.

I remember back when they got Payton and Malone, and some folks here were making predictions like "they won't lose a game all season".

A source tells David Aldridge that the Hawks have told Josh Smith's representatives that they are not willing to give him a max contract after this season.

And with that, it's open season on trade rumors in Atlanta. Smith previously indicated that he believes he's a max player, which means he would want a five-year, $94 million when he becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer. Now a source tells Aldridge that he's "willing to move on." The Hawks are therefore "entertaining trade offers around the league" and plenty will come calling. A rebuilding team like the Suns could see him as the star they're lacking and contenders could view him as a rental for a potential championship run. It's going to be a rocky ride for Smoove owners as the Feb. 21 trade deadline approaches.

Wizards playing so well lately that I might have to stop by the Verizon Center.

another thing about this Celtics winning streak is that it should quiet y'all who said Doc Rivers isn't a good coach. within a week, he completely retooled his offense from this PG dominant pick and roll, drive and kick thing, to this spread shooter, ball swinging misdirection offense that actually looks more efficient than the Rondo-led one. pretty damn impressive.

I like this deal for the Nets, but honestly it's stupid. THEY HAVE MARSHON BROOKS WASTING AWAY ON THE BENCH. Kid is a stud. They need to give him more minutes. He's actually a very good perimeter shooter who can spread the floor like Gordon can. Let him play!

Marshon has had a ton of chances especially in the pre-JJ days. At this point you have to believe there's a reason he never cracked the starting lineup

Marshon is a selfish, relatively efficient iso player that only goes right and can't defend... But I still liked him as a rookie and wish he got more playing time. Probably needs to mature as it seems like he just wants to "get his" on O and slacks on D.

Great observation. Doc never got the credit he deserves for the '08 team and going 7 Games against Mia last season.

A big Celtics fan myself. I can't really put the above on Doc, must say. Perhaps this is working despite Doc Rivers. Love him as a coach, but he's had problems managing his PG and his awfully boring pace. He was never able to make him run as he should, or stop the dribbling. The fact is, Rondo can't play off the ball, and that hurts when the rest of your team moves the ball so well...
