I don't know if damian lillard cracks the top 7 on that particular list. He's really poised, can ball, and has the weird x-factor of brass balls + talent in the clutch, but I don't know if he even wins rookie of the year this year. Mono-Brow is playing awesome too.

the gold standard for rookie PG seasons in the last 10 years for me is Chris Paul - not so much because of the numbers (i think Lillard is actually scoring more), but because he turned the Hornets' record around by 20 wins or so. if you want to go back 20 years, the best rookie seasons were Allen Iverson's and Damon Stoudamire's. and i'm only talking about PG's, which is the only fair comparison to make.
anyway, he's still great to watch and he carries himself with a veteran swagger and seems to be ready to claim the Blazers as his team. he wouldn't be the only reason Portland does well, though, because Batum is also lighting it up.

i agree that we should wait before calling him a superstar but the kid did this in his first 9 games in the league! i'm sure he'll have the normal rookie ups and downs but over time he should still get much better with experience and development. you'd seriously put 10 other guys "plus a few more" in front of him?

People always overlook rondos category killing FTP.
Lillard is great but it's his rookie season and he seems to be over performing and his fgp is pretty low. I think it starts with a 3. Like Larry said lets wait a little til we crown a new superstar.
