i have only seen Austin Rivers play in one game, but from what i can see the kid is the most awful "high upside" prospect i've seen in awhile. he doesn't seem particularly quick or shifty, and seems like an average ballhandler shooter. i know shooting is supposed to be his strength, so maybe it was one bad game, and maybe his ankle is still bothering him.
the worst part is that he'll get the ball, put his head down and try to worm his way to the rim. doesn't work against experienced NBA defenders unless you're supremely gifted like Lebron, and i could tell his teammates were getting a little pissed at his ball stopping.
i'm sure he'll get better after a few more games, but he needs a strong coach to beat the ballhog gene out of his system. experience tells us that it's not easy to do
