He can't possibly get any worse if he stops practicing. So he might as well spend all those hours on other parts of his game.

Guys, it was the first game, with a completely new team, where no one played in the pre-season because of injury. I don't suspect we'll see things come together for months now. I'm hoping this will be more like the SF Giants where they come together with momentum late in the season.

lose by 8 and miss 19 free throws? aargh.
i'm not as down on the offense as some people (and as i might become). couple factors: 1) both kobe and nash are OLD. i think you want to run half-court sets as much as possible, particularly early in the year. 2) there are four legitimately serious passers on the team, running a cutting offense makes sense. still, nash did look lost without being able to operate in the open court. pao looked great and so did kobe. and if they had shot 60% from teh free throw line ...

They did have a choice, pay the tax. Lakers will owe $90m in tax next year or wait the season out and try and win a chip and hopefully once they win Harden wouldn't want to go (harder to leave when you can make a dynasty with your friends). And even if he leaves next summer, with a title, OKC will attract better players for less money for a chance to win a championship. Another option is to trade Harden in the mid-season if the OKC isn't excelling, I am sure his value would have been the same and they might have gotten a better deal than Martin.

Hindsight isn't even a playing a role at all in the discussion, everyone is predicting Harden would beast as the franchise player of the team.

well OKC doesn't have Laker money (advertising, ticket and merchandise sales)

wait everybody is predicting harden would have beasted as the franchise player of OKC or are we talking about the rockets

either way i like how it turned out. rockets will be more exciting to watch, OKC will be interesting to watch

Any franchise and of Rockets once he got traded.

Lakers will be about $100mil over the cap if Dwight signs a max this summer, OKC won't be going over by that much. Again it's a good risk and see where the team is at. Anything short of a title this year and the OKC will be kicking themselves for trading Harden.

Dwight making up for terrible free throws yesterday to making 11/14 before the half. DAMN! Nash got hurt though, hopefully it ain't that serious.

Didn't even bother watching the end of the Lakers game. The Clips/Grizz is just a much better game. And even with VDN, the Clips are just so deep. Shit and Barnes, Hill and Billups didn't even suit up.

And Crawford is a beast off the bench, if Martin can play the same and just score 30+ like it is nothing w/o interrupting the starters rhythm, then I'd give and consider that a great trade.

You cant give Harden a max and have Durant and RW sitting there wondering why they didnt get one too. Its unrealistic.

Frankly, too much focus on the GM in OKC. If a title mattered to Harden he'd have accepted less. So all this back slapping tight team bro talk is bullshit. Harden wanted $, not friends. Durant and RW should feel hard done by, but by Harden, not the GM.
