I endured watching the allstar game last night... and the sideline interview with dwight was horrific. dwight came off contrived and still waffling on how to answer if he's going to let the healthier west all star big men play more because of the situation. it was a fucking knee high slow pitch softball question to answer, but he then waffled in is irritating way.

the thing with the lakers is they have some big decisions to make in lieu of howard being the new face of the franchise.

I saw him on High Stakes poker once, hardly played any hands but he held his own.

Great documentary, early footage of Sabonis, that guy was an absolute monster in his early years. Definitely the best center in the world nobody could see.

I thought it would be marginally interesting to think about some NBA players of the past and their contemporary comparisons. Some are based on style of play, some on temperament, some on a combination and not all favorable as the game has changed.

KD>George Gervin/Bernard King: Both fluid scorers, though KD obviously has a more multi-dimensional game.

MJ>Kobe: Both relentless, both gym rats, both pricks.

Tim Duncan/Kareem: Both quiet, reserved fundamental big men who are/were quietly legendary.

Carlos Boozer

LeBron>Larry Bird: The Jordan comparisons are inaccurate as only Larry Legend did so many things so well except obviously LeBron is a better defender and about 1000x more athletic.

Bill Russell>Tyson Chandler: Russell was better but this says a lot about the value of centers, especially low-scoring centers in today’s NBA. Chandler is probably defensive king of the stats that don’t show up in box scores in today’s NBA.
