Mayo wanted too much money though (max iirc), I mean Gay is a much better player than Mayo and if they do not think Gay is worth the money then they would ahve definitely regret paying Mayo that much.

allegedly, there are a bunch of teams inquiring about Oden, it wouldn't surprise me if the Knicks are one.

Nah, Mayo settled for a 2 year $8mil (that's $8mil total, not per year) contract from Dallas. I think they could have held on to him for at most half of gay's price (which is 3 years $53 mil.)

Dallas had the more attractive offer because it came with a player option for next year so he can leave when he wants and go after more $$$. Obviously after letting go he wasn't getting the offers he expected, likely due to the crappy play after being moved to the bench last season.

miami is perfect for oden. if they got a few points, 2 blocks and 6-7 rebounds from him when lebron is out and wade is in, that is more than enough.

chandler is a master of the big block but he is also a master at offensive deflections back to an open man. he gives up 2-3 offensive boards by tipping it bck to smith or kidd.
