Nobody likes VSC?

Is there any good vintage shoes alternative to Vintage Shoe Company with better leather and craftsmanship?  Timberland Boots Company isn't a whole lot better.

I get amazed by people that try and destroy products with very little knowledge. I live in Australia and bought a pair of these shoes whilst in New York 5 YEARS AGO.  I work as a consultant and have worn these shoes for 5 days a week for 5 years and am wearing this shoe as I type this.

I just said to my wife yesterday that this shoe is probably the best value for money purchase I have made in my life!!!

If people are looking at Vintage shoe products I encourage you to make your own assessment. these are obviously a very good quality shoes and I am not just making this assessment by looking at it, I have 5 years of experience in them. The only downside is it looks like I cannot get a pair sent to Australia (this is how I found this chain of messages).

GREAT shoes , great product. Would be happy to pay $500 for them !!

They were definitely not worth the ~$220 that they retail for (especially since I just got some barely used RW GTs for half that much) and looked like they should have been $45 at Kohl's. Oh, and they were at least a half size large, maybe even a full size. On a side note, it looks like the company is trying to do the same thing as Timberland Boot Co, but with nowhere near as nice leathers. Their slogan of "Since 1800-whatever, we've been making great shoes..." applies to the parent company, HH Brown, not Vintage Shoe Co. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I Know this is 3 years old but I just ran across it via googl search and I just have to speak up. These look amazing. I own a shelf full of $1000 and up handmade boots. This leather as well as construction is purposely course and rustic. Stick to your classic brands. This is not for you, but just know you passed up on some really handmade US craftsmanship and settled for some rigid standard factory production in who knows where.

eh.gif You know all this from pictures? I, too, thought they looked great in photos, until I handled a couple pairs. The leather and distressing were truly awful in person. That's some 'really handmade US craftsmanship' that I can do without. I've long since moved on from Red Wings and exclusively wear Aldens and Heschung. Talk about handmade craftsmanship...
