Body Piercing: Out of Style? - Page 4

People who are into body modification tend to not care if other people aren't.

But the vast majority of people who get tats & piercings these days, are school kids and the average suburban house frau. They get them because they do care what other people think. Basically because they perceive it as everybody is doing it now, and it's the trendy thing to do, and therefore acceptable social behavior.

The truly subversive social misfit types who want to advertise this fact must have an awful time trying to dream up stuff to actually shock the general public. I have noticed a marked increase in the number of people who are actually tattooing their faces...and I don't mean subtly either. No I have to admit...that takes balls (and a willing tattoo artist, as I've heard most have a policy of not doing it).

I have been known to visit the occasional clothing-optional beach and don't see nearly as many body piercings as I used to, say 10 years or so ago.

I've noticed quite a bit of body piercings at the nude beach in downtown Toronto...but then again, there are a lot of gay men there.

Sometimes it looks good sometimes it doesn't.

I typically find the majority of tattoos disgusting unless it is a very organic design that flows with the body, but the tribal, and bold pictures are very tacky. Nipple rings

I sometimes find lip rings attractive; I have no idea why either. At the same time I don't really care for ear or nose rings.
