Monitaly F/W 2010 Discussion

I just received this overshirt by Monitaly, which many of you know is the designer behind Yuketen. This piece is simply amazing! Shoreman1782 posted some photo's and details of this collection earlier this month but I thought I would start a discussion thread for those interested in this collection. I would describe the quality of this shirt similar to that of Japanese made garments but with closer attention made to the fit. Then sleeve length is perfect, the shoulder is set exactly where I like it and it is cut just a tad larger in the body to accommodate a button-down underneath. My favorite purchase all year. check out the triple-stitch throughout the garment... close-up of detail/color outside no-flash shot. not the best but you get the point...

What size did you get? Do you have measurements?

sure. the one in the picture is a size large:

measurement (laid flat on the front side)

pit-to-pit: 22.25"
shoulder: 18.5"
sleeve length: 25.5"
center-back: 32"

normally i wear a medium in most dress shirts, or whatever is closest to 21.5"-22" pit-to-pit. this was intended/designed to be worn over another button-down or long sleeve shirt so you may want to order a little large if that makes sense.

Other than the dearth of stockists, I wonder why we don't see more of this brand here. I think it strikes a good balance between traditional and eccentric.

Some more stockists, altho nobody has anything online, yet:

Mohawk General Store, LA: http://www.mohawkgeneralstore.net/
Barneys (Madison Ave only)
Opening Ceremony, NY and LA

Revolver

I too was looking at that coat and wondering about the fit. The caption says it is oversized, but it doesn't help that the model has his hands in the coat pockets and is pushing the coat hem in.
