Help me choose: beech VS cedar shoetrees - Page 3

The errant thought crosses my mind: If the virtually impermeable varnished hardwood trees are just as good or better than the theoretically absorbent cedar trees, then why are the impermeable plastic trees deemed evil...unless you just regard plastic as inherently evil? Answer me this, someone--Manton, Cusey, Rider, bengalstripe, Leathersoul--one of you shoe mavens, please!

To repeat what I just wrote over on AAAC, I can't think of any reason why one couldn't make a quality tree out of plastic. I don't think that one exists, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be made.

Ron, where the heck are you getting the limewood trees?

Get your lime wood shoetrees here: Dunkelman.com (=Dasco) A short thread in 2004 about the same topic: Shoe trees

Some good posts here, more than enough to warrant a necropost.

FWIW, Dasco makes an excellent plastic shoe tree that is spring loaded, has a high vamp and a full heel.

Pretty interesting what one will find if you only look.

Sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming though.
